A pair of twins win legendary avatars for one of the worlds biggest MMORPG called "The World". The story fallows there adventures as they conquer quests and gain friends. hide « show »

I love the .hack// sage and was quite happy with this although it was quite different from the manga, the tv show brought more action and an edgier plot line. The sound track for this (as alway with .hack) was well composed and preformed, it's very much a mixture of more traditional music and eclectic music. The art work was exceptional and vary smooth. I'm disappointed with my dvds, because it's skippy at the end of one of the episodes. This I recommend to anyone who's into anime, .hack and/or action/adventure. I'm much looking forward to re watching this show again.

I wasn't expecting much from this show, but it delivered a descent storyline that definately deserved more than 12 episodes. hide « show »

Well, to be honest, I didn't really think this show would that good. I actually heard about it when my friend went cleaning out his closet and found the old manga book (first volume). When I was reading it, I thought it had a cheesy storyline, but the book was funny and mildly interesting. My friend said they made a series on T.V. about it, the anime was much better he told me. Of course, being a curious person, I went on to youtube and found within minutes. The storyline started pretty much the same as the book, but I found it actually entertaining because it seemed to link all of the story together (not that I didn't like the manga, it's just that, sometimes the books are little harder to fallow or just seem like bits and peices of a storyline glued out of order, the anime strings everything back up to me). Definatley different from the .hack//SIGN series (which I watched after this one), it gives us a good story that focuses on comedy, as well as adequitley n mystery and suspense. A lot of people thought SIGN was better just because it had a dark and suspensful mood to it, but I honestly found that to be the most annoying part of that series. I literally had to force myself to finish the first five episodes of SIGN, there was nothing that really caught me into the plot and if it wasn't for .hack//LOTTB, I probably wouldn't have cared to finish the rest of SIGN (LOTTB was good so I bared through the beginning). What was great about this series is that the comical athmosphere and the plot (which actually cuts to the chase within a few episodes unlike SIGN) kept me willing to watch through. Though there wasn't as much mystery or suspense as SIGN, there was a good amount of it to keep your interest. I honestly thought the writers were good at balancing this with the pure fun and goofiness of the show. There are some faults though, in some parts, the story starts to drag. Mostly in episodes 7 and 8, which for a series with only 12 episodes, that's a big percentage. Luckily it's no where near as bad as SIGN's plot drag (which starts to drag 10 minutes into the pilot and keeps dragging for many more episodes). Also, with Shugo and Rena being brother and sister, the many scenes that had them interacting with eachother were a little unsettling (mostly by how many of these scenes there were, and if you've seen the anime, I'm sure you know what I mean). The voice acting was pretty good, but borderlines annoying in some scenes where the characters constantly call out each other names, especially with Rena and Shogu. All in all though, the show was great. The problems I found were small, and didn't really affect me that much. The show was funny, has plot that gets interesting within a few episodes, balances well with the mystery and suspense aspect of the series, and was really entertaining. I fully recommend this series to any anime fan, or anybody who read the manga (if you liked the manga, trust me, you'll like the anime, in my opinion, it's better). The biggest problem I had though was that it was 12 EPSISODES LONG!!! That's all?!! The show was great, and deserved to have least a descently lenghted season. SIGN got 29 episodes, WHY ONLY 12?!! Well, I guess you can't change that, especially when it was over four years ago. Anyways, watch it, it's definatley worth your time (it's only like 5 hours or so of your time to)

All in all though, the show was great, and I didn't watching it until I reached the end.

    10 Perfect

.Hack//DUSK is the most awesome show because it's about two twins going into the world of.Hack and meeting new friends and encountering new enemies and rena gets captured and sent to a another world and no one can get in that's what they want you to think hide « show »

The legend has it only the one chosen by the twilight bracelet can rescue Rena Shugo is still looking for the dungeon but meets that cat lady and she agrees to help him finding rena so more peole come and help the gang arrives at the central core of the world and a guardian is blocking the way and that's where rena is held so the battle begins and the guardian dies after Shugo uses Data Drain and Shugo walks just a little ways and something comes and his face runs into something invisible and he thought he would find rena.

    8.3 Great

I liked .hack//SIGN better, but this one is good too. hide « show »

.hack//DUSK is yet another installment in the .hack Project. It follows twins Shugo and Rena as they enter the world and begin playing. Shugo is very skeptical of the game at first, but soon warms up to it, while Rena loves it. They meet plenty of friends along the way, each with their own distinct personalities. Two things I'd have to complain on is the shortness of the series, and the fact that I liked the manga better. DUSK seems to just be a .hack add-on to make a bit more profit, and nothing really happens. It seems to me like the creator just wanted a bit more money. Nonetheless, it's still something I'd reccomend watching.

    7.8 Good

Not as good as .hack//sign but still a great addition to the .hack storyline. hide « show »

This show is pretty good. I figured the chibi characters would be a turn off, but I still liked.

The story behind .hack//DUSK is pretty simple. It revolves around twins, Shugo and Rena, who are new members of the world. The World is a massive online rpg game. These twins won the character models of legendary players, Kite and Black Rose. The story develops quite fast. Monsters start to appear that cannot be destroyed in the first episode. Luckily, Shugo ends up getting Kites bracelet. Though the story wasn't nearly as deep as .hack//SIGN, its still a great addition.

The characters are alright. This show tends to focus more on the humor side than .hack//SIGN. There wasn't a character that I instantly loved. The voice acting was superb though.

The music was decent. It has an upbeat tempo to it. I occasionally found myself humming along with the music, but not often.

Over all, it's a good show. If you watched .hack//SIGN or played the video games, then you'll love this show.
