8.5 Great
I most say I liked those webisodes much better than the "Resistance" one, so that was good - I like that this time it really offered us something, filled in some caps and show the past, made us better to understand Adama and his experiences with Cylons.
I think the end of the was in so sudden was a shock and I most say I liked the whole thing with that hyprid - the way that scene was built and the way it managed to scare me as things just happened - it is a rare thing and you would expect it on something so short.. -

This was a great episode if you can call it that. It could have been a full length feature film that some shows release in theatres during the summer rerun season like the Simpsons or X-files did. The story line is written very well to include past, present and the future. The story fills in a lot of the snippets just mentioned in season 2. And what was shown was done very well in terms of camera angles and view points. From the opening scene to the closing credits, I enjoyed watching this episode.
I will try not to give too much of the plot and I will try my hardest not to give away any spoilers. I rather watch a movie of tv show and find out for myself, I think a few readers might agree with me.
The "present day" setting for this episode is about midway point of season 2. Where the BattleStar Pegasus lost its 3rd Commander in as many episodes. Admiral Adama promotes his son Captain Lee Adama to Commander and to Command the Pegasus. The recap of all the previous episodes is shown in the first few minutes. The story unfolds with Lee Adama choosing his new XO (Executive Officer ie 2nd In Command) This is where there is plenty of flash back sequences and history from Pegasus point of view.
I think I written enough to warrant any Battlestar fan to watch this episode.
Small Spoiler Note: You will get to see a few Cylon from the old series in this episode. -

Before Adama became the commander of the Galactica he was a young hot shot viper pilot. The episodes tell what he was doing during the early years of the cylon war. The episodes were so awesome, it gives as a look on the old technology that we got to see in the original show. The CG cylons looked liked the old robotic cylons. The effects were awesome, the space scenes feature a grandiose interstellar war scenes. The dog fights and the explosions were awesome. The non combat scenes were also great, we get to learn about adama and what his life was like when he was younger.

McGavin: Hey, you put your boots out?
Adama: Ran into the commander while I was doing it.
McGavin: Frak, what'd he say?
Adama: Took one look at my bare feet and said, "What do you hear, Husker?"
McGavin: Nothing but the rain, sir!
Adama: Grab your gun and bring the cat in.
McGavin: Boom, boom, boom.
This dialogue from Flashback #1 is a discussion of a jodie, a military marching chant or cadence. This particular jodie was first spoken in the opening scene of the Miniseries when Starbuck jogged past Adama. Ronald Moore based the jodie on similar cadences that he remembered from his Naval ROTC days in college. However, Moore never wrote out this jodie completely. He liked the nonsensical nature of the lines. He also left it up to the audience to wonder about the full jodie as well as the deeper meaning of it between Starbuck and Adama. Now we learn that Adama was familiar with this jodie back in his early days in the Colonial military. [edit]

Young Adama: (reporting to Galactica) I crashed on the surface. They were making something down here. Experimenting on people to do it, and now they're getting away with whatever they built.
Galactica: Husker. Husker, the war is over.
Young Adama: What? Galactica, repeat!
Galactica: The war is over. An armistice was just signed.
(from Flashback #7) [edit] -
Deep Electronic Voice: All this has happened before, and will happen again.
(from Flashback #5) [edit] -
Young Adama: I heard they were negotiating. Trying to reach a peace settlement.
McGavin: Yeah, I think I heard that one too. But if you think about it, why would they surrender? You know, they're frakking machines. Shoot one down, they just build more.
