Celebrating its 150th episode this season, 24 is one of the most innovative, addictive and acclaimed dramas on television. In its first six seasons, the suspenseful series was nominated for a total of 57 Emmy awards, winning for Outstanding Drama Series (2006) and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for star Kiefer Sutherland (2006). Season Six garnered a sixth consecutive Emmy nomination for Sutherland and second consecutive nomination for supporting actor Jean Smart.

"Day 7" of 24 promises to combine the show's unique and trend-setting format with compelling new elements. Each episode again will cover one hour of real time, as viewers follow JACK BAUER (Kiefer Sutherland) through another astonishing day.

The series gets a jumpstart on the clock this fall with 24: REDEMPTION, the unprecedented two-hour real-time "Day 7" prequel, airing Sunday, Nov. 23. Set and shot on location in Africa, Bauer and mentor CARL BENTON (Robert Carlyle) battle an international crisis, while here at home the nation prepares for a new president on inauguration day. Taking place just a few months before the new day dawns, U.S. State Department officer FRANK TRAMELL (Gil Bellows) and JONAS HODGES (Jon Voight) are pulling the strings that will set the stage and raise the stakes for Season Seven. Set in Washington, DC, "Day 7" opens four years after Season Six with CTU dismantled and Bauer on trial. Bauer's day takes an unexpected turn when former colleague TONY ALMEIDA (Carlos Bernard) returns. Meanwhile, newly elected President ALLISON TAYLOR (Cherry Jones) leads the country alongside White House Chief of Staff ETHAN KANIN (Bob Gunton) and First Gentleman HENRY TAYLOR (Colm Feore).

A national security crisis prompts an investigation by a team of FBI agents including JANIS GOLD (Janeane Garofalo), RENEE WALKER (Annie Wersching), LARRY MOSS (Jeffrey Nordling) and SEAN HILLINGER (Rhys Coiro). Although CTU is no longer, CHLOE O'BRIAN (Mary Lynn Rajskub) and BILL BUCHANAN (James Morrison) are back for another momentous day of shocking events. Whilst standing trial, ex-CTU agent Jack Bauer is called away by the FBI when an old friend is discovered to be involved with terrorists.

As the climactic conclusion to "Day Six" nears, the Administration copes with a compromising situation as Jack Bauer stops at nothing to get what he wants and to protect the country from an international incident that could change the world forever.

I am so glad this show is returning with a new season. I have been waiting for basically over a year to see Jack back in action! What makes this show so great is just the fact your watching it in 'real-time'. While it is highly unlikely that these events will really happen in the time allotted, its what makes this show so exciting, making it the 'edge-of-your-seat' action. Some people may not see it that way, being too unrealistically sound. I however see it as just a way to keep people entertained. And believe me this show is entertaining.

When this show first started airing i never really payed close attention to it. It seemed interesting at first but for first time viewers it can be confusing. This show is different from every other one. Its real-time. Everything that your watching is happening minute for minute. And believe me im sure the producers & writers are always running into problems trying to make a real-time show like this. But for the most part it looks to me that they've done a pretty decent job. And looks like Season 7 will be really interesting with Tony Almeida. Watching this on computer will make it so much easier, but if your unable to do that, dvd will be the next best option. I am infact wanting to watch the earlier seasons again. This is one show that will get the most replay value!

With every season I prevent myself from looking at the next episodes previews so that i can be surprised at every turn. I am more excited more and more with every episode at Jack is surrounded by action, torture, espionage, sabotage and terrorism. Jack has become an even bigger action hero in my mind than even Bruce Willis in Die Hard, and Chuck Norris combined. Jack shows weakness and strength making him human and not godlike. Every twist and turn of these episodes digs you deeper into the plot line keeping your attention and not letting you leave its grasp.

In someways similar to NCIS, i didnt watch this show right away for various reasons but once i did, i never looked back again.

I love this show because its not afraid to raise the bar in action, story-telling and more. Jack Bauer is by far the best action hero in tv history. He is such a bad @$$. The show always reinvents itself each season usually always out-gunning the previous season so to speak. You just never see somethings coming. Another thing i love about 24 is its not afraid to kill off characters, whether for storyline reasons or just for the heck of it, its great.

24 its an awsome show about 24 hour in the live of a man after 6 seasons maybe its time to end the show Why?

I heard a rumor about a movie? Why they dont put 24-Redemption as the movie instead of make another 2-hour episode?

ANyway 24 is awsome but seriously if Season 7 its gonna be like Season 6... it should end without Season 7
Anyway im expecting a "raise-up" with Season 7 i hope it will "up-hill" again

Welcome to "Two Hours in the Goings-on of Fictitious African Country, Sangala", with your host, Jack Bauer! On the show tonight: sweaty, nerdy-looking government man tracks down Bauer to present him with an order to return to the USA to face charges. Only 50 minutes later, Mr Nerd seems to have "grown a pair", and knows information about an attempted coup - information that might have been helpful in convincing Jack to return with him less than an hour ago.

Also on the show: terrorists, each with a different accent, drive around in extremely reliable-but-run-down vehicles. Also, we learn that young orphans with an overly inquisitive nature (if not a bit too wise-to-the-world) are helpful to the viewer in filling in gaps concerning Bauer's whereabouts over the past year or so.

Also, African grandfathers in under-developed nations still have access to, and enjoy the music of, Elvis.

Also, Bauer's cheeks, though sensitive to the touch by fire-heated machetes, seem impervious to blistering and bruising.

No, this is not Tears of the Sun, or Blood Diamond, but it is the same Africa; and whilst there's not enough varied action for Jack to get himself into, or any way his daughter can get involved and manage to get kidnapped, this is, after all, merely 2 hours of "real time". "24" has always shown it can deliver - at least 18 hours' worth per season, and so "Redemption" aside, there's a lot of promise for Season 7.

My one hope? Perhaps "24" will one day use the 24-hour clock in its time-keeping...
