Billy the Kid worked as a ranch hand for John Tunstall who befriended Billy and was a surrogate father figure. Things changed when a sheriff's posse ambushed and murdered Tunstall which set the Kid off on a path of revenge. Billy the Kid cheated death more than once until confronted by his friend Sheriff Pat Garrett.
