When a sheriff's squad rolls out each day and the deputies begin their shifts, they call in to dispatch, "10-8… We are now in service."

10-8 explores the LA Sheriffs from the front lines – the patrol car – in the course of the officers' shifts, which can range from the mundane to the dangerous, and everything in between.

Rico Amonte was brought out to LA by his older brother Angelo, a detective in the LAPD Robbery/Homicide Division. He is now in his first year, learning to become a professional police officer, and it's up to Senior Deputy Barnes to teach him the ropes. Their vastly different backgrounds give them opposing points of view on how to police the streets. Amonte's irreverent style can get the job done, but usually not in the way Barnes would call standard procedure.
The other training officers are Senior Deputy Matt Jablonski and Senior Deputy Ryan Layne. Jablonski is partnered with Trainee Gabriella Lopez, a young Latina from East LA. Layne's partner is Trainee Chase Williams, a recent law school grad eager to acquire street experience before he becomes a D.A.

Captain Otis Briggs fights to keep his station running smoothly and by the book. In Los Angeles County, which has the largest sheriff's jurisdiction in the country, it's a daunting task.

• 10-8 dvd???

  Anybody know if ABC is ever going to put 10-8 on DVD. I really liked the show and was upset when it was cancelled. Not that my tapes are breaking down i'd really like to see it end up on DVD. Anyone else?

• Completely disappered.

  Its like this show never exsisted. I cant download it anywhere, cant find it on dvd, cant find it on the original site. Its very sad. i loved this show and would pay to see it again. sigh. i hope the network smartens up and puts it on dvd.

  This was a very entertaining show that deserved a chance. It was preempted so many times that I lost track of it. They should have really let this show go 4 months. Bring it back! Bring it back!   What happened I was so excited to see the next season and it never came back? What happened it was good. It had humor as well as drama and cute guys. BRING IT BACK. I hate when a good show I like comes on then it just stops that sucks!!

  What happened to this show?!?!?!? It was funny and charming and dramatic at the same time. After each episode I would talk about it with my family and we decided it was one of the best on ABC so far. I want this show back and I would also like to know when i can get the first season.
