In the series finale, President Taylor puts all her concentration into the signing of the peace treaty; and Jack has to once again take matters into his own hands.
With the finale of 8th season, 24 is still one of the most innovative, addictive and acclaimed dramas on television. In its first seven seasons, the suspenseful series was nominated for a total of 58 Emmy awards, winning for Outstanding Drama Series (2006) and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama… More Series for star Kiefer Sutherland (2006). Season 6 garnered a sixth consecutive Emmy nomination for Sutherland and second consecutive nomination for supporting actor Jean Smart.
The last few episodes have show Jack to be the very same as Tony in his quest for vengence. People are kidding themselves if they say this is about justice, Jack is motivated purely by seeking revenge. Ok you can argue that Tony put alot more lives at risk but he lost his wife and son. Jack… More only lost a woman who he cared alot about, someone that made him happy. You can also argue that Tony killed innocent people but so has Jack. The men trying to get information from Dana were doing so on orders that came indirectly from the President and Jack killed all of them. Also the two people that Dana killed making her escape (the banker and a man getting into a taxi I think) and dead because of Jack's need for vengence. Now dont get me wrong, I'm loving this dark side of Jack and I think the last few episodes have been some of the best in the show's history butI also think these episodes help us understand how Tony ended up as he did because we are watching Jack go through a somewhat similar fate.
So,right now i'm watching season 6 on DVDand i only have 7 episodes left and I heard that in 2008 a 24 movie came out and I really want to watch it but i'm not sure when.Do I have to watch season 7 first?Or should i watch it before i start watching season 7?What do you think i should do?
Who do you think was the best love interest Jack had?
24 is about the only TV show that I watch. It will be hard for new shows to try to surpass what 24 has done. hide show
To me, it would've been beyond awesome if the 2 guys in the black van at the end were badass Tony Almeida and badass Mike Doyle (recovered from his eye injuries from Season 6) saving Jack and recruiting him into an elite mercenary force that would do some serious ass-kicking stuff (just for money this time) in the middle of hell that is Iraq in the upcoming movie. After watching 8 seasons of the show, my favorite characters are the following: Jack Bauer, Mike Doyle, Tony Almeida, Chase Edmunds and Renee Walker. My favorite scene throughout the show: Tony Almeida saving Jack Bauer and Audrey Raines' lives in the warehouse in Season 4.
The one scene that gets me emotional the most: Jack looking at a family photo and crying in the first episode of Season 2
.
Absolutely Love the Show, Jack Bauer and everybody. hide show
This TV show was fantastic from the very first moment of 24 to the very last moment of 24. The countdown clock at the end was perfect. I was worried that they were going to take Jack off the deep end, but they were able to pull him back from the brink, and end his story in a great way.
From the moments Jack Bauer came crashing - killing and maiming - onto our screens in 2001 I was completely enthralled by this television show, and have been ever since.
Great characters have been and gone, Palmer, Tony, Bill to name just a few some great silent clock moments along the way, some great series, some weak series but overall my favourite TV Show of all time.
I look forward to the movie, it would be interesting to see what they do to Jack in that..
For me 24 is the most exciting and great tv serie of all time,Jack Bauer is fictional but is the character that most people want to be when things are wrong and need to be fix is an authentic american hero,he deserve a family that love him on a 9 day tv . hide show
The 24 tv program is the most excitng tv action you can see i enjoy like been on a rollercoster, because when things appear to be better always come situation that change that good feelings. Also the Jack Bauer i love it when he is peaceful but as soon anyone of the antagonism try to kill him he transform himeself on destructive machine eliminating all oponent and always in his mind that he is loyal to the usa government and the presidency. He not want to kill people but if he have to do it he will not waste time. to do.
what i will miss most about 24 is the way bauer seems to always get away from a tight situation, with or without the help of Chloe and Edgar and the great season finales. hide show
i started watching this show when it was on season 6 and had to do a little catching up before i decided to buy the whole box set and consider it one of the top 10 best shows so far Not all episodes were great but there were ones that got dragged me to the edge of my seat especially in this season and season 4 now that Lost and 24 are over i will have to find another action filled series to fill my time. i think the show ended at the right time too seeing as in the past he was declared dead, quit, and some other twists they kept coming up with, i will miss them.
Probably the best and most innovative show. some little spoilers!! beware hide show
Itīs hard to describe how i feel after seeing the last 2 episodes of 24.
This series has made me cry, laugh, scream, etc. maybe this wasnīt the way i was hoping it would end.
When i started watching season 8 i knew right from scratch, this is jackīs chance to finally get some peace, but no, i was wrong, again.
The story telling for this one, was near perfection, although i must say, i felt that the last 4 chapters were written in a hurry, to much info!!!! to many things to tie up, other than that, i think the writers made a good job, directors work was flawless, and actors where right on the spot, except for some chapters of freddie prinze jr.
One can easily imagine a 9th season, despite the fact they all say its over, if you look at it, you have, CTU up and running, a former president (taylor will be prosecuted), an enemy (the Russians) and jacks interest besides justice (his daughter and granddaughter), but, maybe is definitely the end for bauer.
I think this season showed 2 sides of bauer, the one we know, and the dark side if you may call it... i was really shocked by how they managed to transform this character. The interrogations and the final assassinations where just perfect for ending 24.
I canīt say im completely happy with the series ending, but i have a slight hope, that i will see jack again, maybe not on a tv screen, but maybe on the big screen.
