24 can best be described as one of the most innovative, ground-breaking, intelligent, well-written, unpredictable and suspenseful television shows of all time. hide show

The reason this show is so ground breaking is the fact that it has used split screen cameras, and a real time format to create the element of a quality made show.

The show follows the worst days of Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland)the CTU agent and each episode chronicles every hour of the day, and is shot in real-time. What makes this show so unique are the character relationships, the shows writing and the attention to detail. Whether the shows themes are about kidnappings, bomb threats, personal vendettas, assassinations, or terrorist attacks the themes are handled in such a compelling way that the viewer is hooked at every jump and turn.

Kiefer Sutherland was perfect for the role as Jack Bauer, so much that many people describe him as "born for the role". Dennis Haysbert does a superb acting job as Sen David Palmer and the show has an excellent group of characters who make the support team of the show and these include Carols Bernard as Tony and Elisha Cuthbert as Kim Bauer. A big bonus of the show is that 24 is constantly surprising viewers in unexpected moments, and you never know what to expect on the show. Anything can and does happen.

The scripts on this show are top class and they deserve a mention in their own right. The attention to detail as I mentioned earlier is prominent with the real time aspect of the show. There are very rarely any mistakes with the time aspect of the show, and this is a strength of the show. The show always uses multiple split screen camera shots and this is innovative work because it helps to make the show seem realistic and also in real time. You will also see most of the camera focused on Jacks point of view and this is to make the show from a humans point of view and it helps to bring the viewer more involved in the show.

I would strongly recommend that if you do not already watch 24, start now because you're really missing out on of the greatest tv shows ever made.

Long may this show continue and the legacy of this show will be remembered for many years to come. Finally I would like to thank everyone behind this great show.

One of the greatest shows of this generation. A must see show for anybody of any interest. hide show

Action packed, lovable characters, interesting story lines, suspenseful and a really great cast. These are the things that this show is so successful. Many shows have great seasons but later seasons start lacking compared to before, but not 24. This is one of the most consistent shows ever.I know some seasons weren't as good as the other but they were pretty good compared to the other shows out there. Not a one of the seven seasons of this show has the cast disappointed me. Kiefer Sutherland delivers a emmy notable performance. Not only him is co stars are also excellent actors and play their roles with much success and it is a pleasure to watch them. Each season has a different story line, which i think is a great idea because it doesn't get boring and viewers rarely lose interest. Overall, this show deserves a 10/10, well, because its simply a great show. If you have the chance, you MUST watch this show.

One of the best shows of the new millenium. "24" is a must see to all the people who like good stories and a lot of action. hide show

Action, catching plots, good scripts, a perfect cast season after season, heroes, villains and more action. And all in 24 hours, 24 episodes per season. Yes, "24" is that and more, one of the best series made during the new millenium who presents us a new hero called Jack Bauer (amazing Kiefer Sutherland) who works for the CTU (Counter Terrorist Unit) and who is capable of doing anything to stop the terrorists. Anything.

In my opinion one of the best things of the series are the changes in the story. Each season starts in a way and when it seems everything is going to solve soon, something happens and there's a big change in the plot. That contributes to the tension that this series can generate.

    10 Perfect

Summary: 10/10 A must see show! Below are reasons why and why not this show should be watched. hide show

Premise: 24 is a real time action/thriller/drama show that fullfills all these 3 aspects brilliantly. Each season consists of 24 episodes each 1 hour long making each season one day in the life of the main character Federal Agent Jack Bauer. Working with the Counter Terrorist Unit he fights terrorists in unlikely yet absolutely entertaining situations.

    Reasons to Watch: Too Many!
    1. Superb Action and Drama : The plots are usually very entertaining and thrilling. The ticking clock and the constant acclaims of the phrases "running out of time", "going to happen with the hour" brings a lot of tension and intensity to the show will get your adrenaline pumping.
    2. Brilliant cast: Everyone on 24 acts brilliantly, starting with the lead Kiefer Sutherland , the CTU analyst Chloe O Brian played by Mary Lynn Rajskub and many others. Even if the plot may become unbelievable at times the sheer brilliance of the actors and charm of each and every character on the show will keep your attention.
    3. Relevance to the Real World: Even though the show can be a bit outlandish at times. It contains its own version of many relevant real world events. David Palmer a ficitional character who became the first black president on the show years before Obama. Also It deals with Oil conspiracy attacks which could be a reason for war in the real world too. Thus this is not a absolutely outlandish show.
    4. Simply Memorable: The show is just great and can be re-watched many times. It contains many powerful and memorable scenes which you will always hold dear even after the show is over. Also the "Real time" concept is unique and original. So you should watch the show even if its just for this reason.
    5. Unpredictability and Character deaths: 24 is the one show that is not afraid to kill off main characters and this makes it very unpredictable unlike other shows. You will never know who is going to die and who will live.

Reasons not to Watch: Hardly any!
    1. Repetitive: Some seasons (2 and 6) can be a bit dull and a repetition of previous plots. 2. Excessive Violence: 24 has a lot of violence in it, especially torture scenes. If you are faint hearted then this may not be the show for you. But if you can bare this aspect the rest is really worth it!

Overall: The reasons to watch heavily outweights the reasons not to. Hence it is a "Must-See" show. If you don't watch it you are really missing out on something!

24 is fast paced, brilliant and one of the best shows i have seen....excellent writing and fantastic screen play make it one of a kind.... hide show

    24. The very number has become synonymous with the famous T.V. show. This however is not without reason. Kiefer Sutherland won a golden globe for his performance in just the first 10 episodes of season 1. He is excellent as CTU Agent Jack Bauer. A strong support cast for every season add to the delightful cast of 24. They are a pleasure to watch and the suspense is somehow heightened with every episode, culminating in an explosive season finale. Although Season 6 was patchy, they more than made up for it with an amazing season 7. I love this show and can't wait to watch season 8. Keep up the awesome work guys.
