Frank jumps back to stop the assassination of a Nobel Prize winning Columbian priest. Meanwhile a boy, Morgan, who is having trouble in school hears of his ex-Air Force flyer grandfather's death of a heart attack. Their paths cross when the sphere passes through the plane Morgan is taking to his grandfather's funeral. The plane is destroyed but Morgan is briefly phased into the Sphere . . . and wakes up in his bed seven days later at the same point Frank arrives, retaining his memories of the original timeline. Morgan begins to alter events with newfound confidence, studying ahead of time for a pop quiz and catching the eye of a girl whose attention he failed to grab the first time.

Meanwhile Frank captures the assassin but can't verify that the crash he saw occurred. When Morgan tries to warn his grandfather, he gets ignored so uses a stolen credit card to get to New York and stop his grandfather from dying. Frank manages to track the kid with Olga (with Ramsey in hot pursuit) and bargain with him for the flight info in return for helping his grandfather - they get there just in time to help him. Morgan benefits at school from his new reputation.
