It's Thanksgiving time. The rumored news about Martin being an expectant father has finally been let out of the bag. At school, everyone thinks that Ruthie is the one who is pregnant with Martin's baby, as she was previously out of school for a while with the flu, and everyone assumes it was morning sickness. Meredith and Martin have broken up over the reveal. Meredith gets support from her sister Kelly.
Despite the rumors, Ruthie tries her best to avoid them, hoping to have a chance with Martin if they are not true. Ruthie has also taken up a project in collecting labels in order to get a new computer for the school. She gets encouragement from her teacher Ms. Allison, who also persuades her to join the school newspaper. Although, once finding out the news about Martin and Sandy, Ruthie is crushed and has a hard time getting into the Thanksgiving spirit.
In addition, Eric and Annie work harder at trying to be nicer to Rose as she's along with the family for Thanksgiving. Lastly, the Camden's celebrate Thanksgiving dinner at the Glen Oak Church where they help feed the homeless.

Meredith: You didn't tell me Ruthie called. And WHY are you going around telling everyone that she's having Martin's baby?
Kelly: Careful. Wheelchair. You wouldn't hit me, would you?
Meredith: No! But do not even try to make me feel sorry for you right now!
Kelly: Okay, but I don't know what you're so upset about. Didn't you say Martin got some girl pregnant?
Meredith: Not Ruthie.
Kelly: Not Ruthie? Oops, my mistake. (edit) Ruthie: So why'd you sleep with him?
Sandy: I don't really feel comfortable discussing that with you.
Ruthie: Well, I was thinking about it a lot last night. Why would you do that?
Sandy: Sometimes people just do that.
Ruthie: Yeah, but sometimes they have a reason. (edit) Martin: (talking about Sandy) Great...now everyone can have a good look at her.
Simon: Maybe you should have a good look at her Martin. Its your baby too. (edit) Eric: Luce, we've all been so worried how she was going to take this, thinking Ruthie was a little girl, but she's not. She's a young woman.
Lucy: Dad, she's a teenager. (edit) Ruthie: I just found out last night.
Sandy: Yeah, Rose told me on the way down here. I'm sorry. I didn't know you were in love with him.
Ruthie: It wouldn't have made any difference.
Sandy: I don't know....I guess not. (edit)
