Episode Summary

As the summer comes to an end, Felicity's father begins nagging her about her future. She hopes to prove that she has a future in her major by gaining admission to the honors art program. Ben returns from the EMT training session and announces that he wants to become a doctor. He signs up for a heavy course-load, and realizes that he will have to stay in school a fifth year to finish his pre-med requirements. Felicity's father comes to town and accuses her of wasting her college years. She becomes furious at his interference and decides to pay for her final year of college herself. Javier serves as a go-between for Elena and his cousin, who is designing her wedding dress. Elena is extremely demanding, and Javier eventually becomes fed up with her attitude. He apologizes after realizing that she was trying to duplicate her late mother's dress. Sean and Meghan quarrel after she names Tracy to a hypothetical list of men with whom she wants to have sex.

    8.5 Great

The great introduction to the final season. hide show

When I watched Felicity for the first time I must have missed this episode. Recently, while watching the reruns I found out that the first installment of the fourth and unfortunately final season contains everything that Felicity is famous for.

The complicated characters, witty dialogues and real life dilemmas. As far as the last ones are concerned, the biggest advantage of the series and, this episode especially is the extremely believable way of presenting reality of students' lives.

Afters spending holidays in New York with Noel and Javier, as the beginning of the senior year is approaching, Felicity starts to have doubts about her previous choices, piratically those concerning her studies, as well as the future ahead. It's so natural, so obvious, that almost impossible to be a theme for an episode. And that's the charm of the series. Each topic is presented in a bit funny, though-provoking and extremely entertaining way.

The great introduction to the final season.
