Episode Summary

When Tracy is given a three-day leave after shooting a perpetrator, Nick works alone on a grisly murder investigation. However, Tracy ignores her orders and goes undercover at an escort service, putting her right in the sights of the killer. While Nick enlists the help of an infamous serial killer to try and find the killer, Tracy just might be the next victim.

Nick must face a prison inmate about getting inside the mind of a killer who is murdering women and keeping parts for himself. Meanwhile Tracy is facing her own demons about having killed a suspect in a shootout. hide show

This episode is simply a rehash of silence of the lambs. The killer who takes the head and hands of his victims is simply a revisualization of buffalo bill from SOTL. Where as the prisoner is a psycho-analist (of sorts) much like our friend doctor hannibal lector. Although there are some similarities, the differences are nice too. Instead of sending Tracy in to talk to him, Nick must face his own inner demons and be "analyzed" by the good doctor, although the doctor is really a taxodermist. Really, it is sort of a good take on SOTL without being exactly like the movie. Good Job to the writers.

  • Why didn't Internal Affairs ask Tracy for the gun she fired in the shoot-out? It looked too big to be a back-up. Also, while she is breaking down with it in her hand! it looks identical to the one she used to shoot the suspect. []

  • Nick: I am nothing like you.
Scheer: I don't believe that. You've killed many times, don't deny it. You've seen death in all its glory and you've been drawn to it. It compels you in ways that shock you, frighten you and thrill you. And they gave you a badge? []
  • Sedrick: (to Tracy) I would've fixed you dinner, but I think it's probably best that you don't eat before surgery. []
