Mamoru's departure date for England draws near. Zoisite has been trying to approach Mamoru frequently.
"Don't call me by that name!"
Upon a refusing Mamoru, Kunzite's dark influence is...
Given what has been happening with Ami, Usagi has sworn in her heart, "I must forget about Chiba Mamoru," but the waves of fate are tying the two of them together again.
The romantic overtones of the series will finally, finally, be reaching a climax in Act 24. We've come so far, haven't we. Those days of the phrase, "Approach seven centimeters," are nostalgic...
The theme of this episode is being true to one's self. Being true to their identity as well as their own feelings. Both Usagi and Marmou have distanced themselves from each other but worst of all from how they really feel. From Marmou sorting how how he feels about Usagi aside from Hima. As well as realized what will happen once he moves away, he can't play the Tuxcedo Mask role anymore. To Usagi who despite taking the advice of others to distance herself from him, we know underneath the false smiles in reality she's misserable without him, likewise for Marmou.
What I love about the episode is both charcters are as usual at their best but they finally after a long time in the show reveal their feeling for one another as well as identities. The beautiful thing about the realtionship with the two is they fall in love with their human identities not with their superhero alteregos. Usagi falls in love with Marmou not with Tuxcedo Mask, Marmou even though he does find out that Usagi is Sailor Moon falls in love with Usagi. Even at the times they don't speak to one another or are apart you can tell they desire one another.
The revealment for both of them comes in small but big forms. Like one moment when Usagi almost got herself run over, Marmou of course saves her and says one key word "idiot" which of course comes up a lot latter. And there was another moment when Sailor Moon after a fight with Kunsite, depite the physical state she was in and Marmou saying she shouldn't worry. She does worry and continues to find her, but she reveals her true feelings toward Marmou the fact she was going to give him the muffler she made for him. He is of course taken aback by this information but is rather touched she would do something like that for him.
Then at the last moments as Usagi moves a certain distance, he reveals either intentionally or unintentionally we may never know, his identity when he says that one key word "idiot". She then gives the similar responce she gave Marmou once he called her that, it then suddenly clicks to her and she then takes off that mask only to see that the person she was looking for was right in front of her face all this time. And both see each other for the first time in a long time.
I couldn't help but cheer in that moment because it was really romantic; that's what I call romantic irony.
