• REVIEW: This was another rough night for the panel as they went an unimpressive 1 for 3 on the evening. However, there was a twist on how they got that record. In the first game, Phyllis scored the only win for the panel as she correctly guessed that the lady from New York was a conductor. In fact, Karen Hidalgo (aka Karen Gustafson) was the conductor in charge of the orchestra for the Broadway musical "Illya Darling." In the second game, the panel was totally stumped by the hammock manufacturer. The mystery guest round provided the twist on the evening because most of the time, this round would provide a win on an otherwise poor scoring night. Unfortunately, tonight's mystery guest round did not follow the usual pattern and the panel was stumped by the ever sexy Raquel Welch. Raquel was on the show to promote her latest film, the spy thriller "Fathom." Also, as she was leaving the stage, you could see Tony leaning over to watch her walk past the panel. This was probably because she wore the shortest miniskirt that had ever been seen on the CBS WML. That definitely was the only highlight on a rather poor scoring night for the panel. - Sargebri (2008)
  
  RAQUEL WELCH: During the post game chat with Raquel Welch, she mentioned another film she had appeared in, "One Million Years BC." A still photograph from that film would provide one of the iconic images of the mid 1960's. The image of Raquel in a fur bikini probably graced the bedroom of many a teenager or college student during that era. As of this writing, Raquel is appearing on the sitcom "Welcome to the Captain" in the role of "Charlene Van Ness." - Sargebri (2008) [edit]
• (1) This is the second show this season, after EPISODE #853 of March 12, 1967, to have no opening sponsor on the opening titles.
  (2) "LIVE" WATCH: This is the 44th surviving kinescope from the post-Kilgallen era where the introductory "And now, live from New York..." wording on this live telecast was kept untouched.
  (3) VARIATIONS ON THE USUAL THEMES: On tonight's show, announcer Johnny Olson varied his usual intro of Arlene Francis by describing her this time out as "That popular star of stage, movies and television." And John has begun to vary his "sign in" intros, for example, advising the second contestant, "Will you sign in after you've entered, please?" His "Will you enter, mystery challenger, and sign in, please?" intro for mystery guests remained in place for Raquel Welch's appearance, though.
  (4) GEORGE GRIZZARD: While this is his only guest panelist appearance on "WML?" in the dwindling days of its CBS run, Mr. Grizzard will make one more appearance, in the 1968-1975 syndicated version, as a mystery guest during the 1973-1974 season. This later appearance was more than two years before he played the role of "John Adams," one of the Founding Fathers and the second President of the United States, in the 1976 PBS miniseries "The Adams Chronicles."
  (5) "ILLYA DARLING": The Broadway musical "Illya Darling," for which the first contestant, Mrs. Karen Hidalgo (aka Karen Gustafson), served as musical director, was based on the 1960 film "Never on Sunday." Both the movie and the Broadway musical starred onetime "WML?" mystery guest Melina Mercouri in the title role of "Illya," and one of the musical's co-stars was "To Tell the Truth" panelist Orson Bean as "Homer Thrace." "Illya Darling" ran at the Mark Hellinger Theatre from April 11, 1967 to January 13, 1968, for a total of 320 performances. The original cast album was issued on United Artists Records (catalogue number UAL 8901/UAS 9901).
  (6) RAQUEL WELCH: Not only was the 1970 movie "Myra Breckenridge" (from the novel of the same name by onetime "WML?" guest panelist Gore Vidal), in which tonight's mystery guest Raquel Welch co-starred, rated as among "The Worst Films of All Time" in the 1978 book of the same name, but Miss Welch herself was named "The Worst Actress of All Time" in Harry and Michael Medved's 1980 book "The Golden Turkey Awards," beating out the likes of Candice Bergen, Vera Hruba Ralston, and Mamie Van Doren. Miss Bergen was a two-time mystery guest, on EPISODE #781 of September 12, 1965 and EPISODE #857 of April 16, 1967, and Miss Van Doren made a mystery guest appearance on EPISODE #355 of March 24, 1957. Miss Ralston was the only one of the future "Golden Turkey" nominees never to have appeared on "WML?"
  (7) "WML?" CREW CREDITS AND CREDITS CRUNCH WATCH: This evening, David Roth is credited in place of Dan F. Smith as associate director, however, this was the last production crew credit before cutting back to the "WML?" closing title card. Additionally, GSN's diabolical, dastardly and despicable trait of "crunching" the screen during the end credit sequence manifested itself once more when this episode was run on February 11, 2008 by the cable and satellite channel.
  (8) The February 11, 2008 airing of tonight's "WML?" show by GSN was followed by a rerun of the February 18, 1963 edition of "I've Got a Secret," with Henry Morgan substituting for regular host Garry Moore, the panel this time out consisting of Betsy Palmer, Gretchen Wyler, Dorothy Loudon and Faye Emerson, and Mr. Moore's longtime sidekick and announcer Durward Kirby as the celebrity guest. This and a previous "IGAS" from this season had their own version of the "WML?" curtain entrance, with each of the panelists coming out on stage after Mr. Morgan, who made a running gag out of a cold he had, introduced them. - W-B (2008)
  
  KEUN OH KIM ON "IGAS": Also briefly appearing on this February 18, 1963 episode of "I've Got a Secret" was Miss Keun Oh Kim, who was also a contestant on "What's My Line?" EPISODE #674 of July 28, 1963, with the occupation of "What's My Line? Panelist in Korea." (There are more notes about her on the guide for that episode.) Keun Oh Kim's "WML?" connection was not mentioned on "IGAS." Miss Kim was not a contestant on "IGAS," but she was "connected" to one of the contestant's secrets. One game featured Barbara Kiernan of Andover, MA, who was the vice-president of "The Ninety-Nines," the international women pilots association which was founded in 1929. Barbara's "IGAS" secret was: "We bought an airplane with trading stamps." As we learned after the game, the American members of her group bought an airplane with three million Green Stamps. The airplane was given to their foreign member, Captain Keun Oh Kim, who was the only female pilot in Korea. (Captain Keun Oh Kim became a "Ninety-Nines" member when she went to college in the United States.) Henry Morgan held up a photo of the plane, which was a small Piper PA-22-108 Colt. (The registration number, N5088Z, was painted on the side of the plane and was visible in the photo.) With this airplane, Keun Oh Kim would then be able to teach other women in Korea how to pilot an aircraft. Keun Oh Kim was seated in the "IGAS" audience and stood up to take a bow.   KEUN OH KIM ON "TTTT": Miss Keun Oh Kim also appeared on another Goodson-Todman game show when she was the featured contestant in the third game of the January 6, 1959 edition of "To Tell the Truth" with host Bud Collyer and the panel of Polly Bergen, Ralph Bellamy, Kitty Carlisle and Hy Gardner.   REVIEW: After a good start, the panel had a particularly rough night this particular evening. Phyllis correctly guessed that Mrs. Hidalgo (aka Karen Gustafson) was a conductor, after Arlene opened the door wide open for her. When they got to the hammock maker, the panel got in trouble and got bogged down when they kept insisting that the product was worn. If they had asked if the product was a piece of furniture, or asked if the product could be sat on, maybe they would have had a chance. The panel was also completely stumped by mystery guest Raquel Welch. Miss Welch was on the show to promote her upcoming film, the spy thriller "Fathom." Of course, at the time of her appearance, she was perhaps the hottest American sex symbol of that era. She really showed why when she came out in one of the shortest mini-skirts ever worn on WML. In fact, the promotional material for the film "One Million Years B.C." showing her attired in a fur-lined bikini became a cultural icon of the mid-1960s. She continued to make films for years, including the 1970 camp classic "Myra Breckenridge," which has often been cited as one of the worst films of all time. In 2002, she took on the role of "Aunt Dora" on the acclaimed PBS series "American Family," which allowed her to pay tribute to her Latino roots. After the show, John mentioned that Tony was currently the commentator on the broadcasts of the Metropolitan Opera. Tony's love of opera would later be written into his future series, "The Odd Couple," as his character "Felix Unger" was also an opera fanatic. - Sargebri (2004)

  This is George Grizzard's only appearance as a guest panelist, and he performed very well indeed. He got a laugh when, instead of passing to Phyllis, yet still desperately wanting to get a "yes" answer so as not to lose the game, he asked the mystery guest if she were "under eight feet tall."
