Karl: Never seen so many presents under a tree.
Roxie: I think you've been helping Santa.
Adam: Elves, maybe it was the elves. Didn't you represent them?
Karl: No, just Santa.
Roxie: But I danced with them, nice little fellas. (edit) Dr. Burney: (of Bert checking himself out of the hospital) This is not very wise, Mr. O'Riley.
Bert: Well you know, Doc, you get to be my age (chuckles) sometimes the wisest thing to do is not the right thing to do. Ah, this may not be good for my heart, but my granddaughter's performing tonight, and if I miss it, it'll break my heart. (edit) Becca: (about her audition) I couldn't have done it without Bert. He's really not a bad man, like you and grandma said.
Marie: Just be careful, honey.
Becca: You said that before, what do you mean?
Marie: Well, he wasn't there for your grandma and me when we needed him the most. (edit) Becca: So, how old was my mom when you left grandma?
Bert: I don't know, around two I guess.
Becca: Two and a half.
Bert: Well if you knew, why did you ask me?
Becca: Why did you leave?
Bert: Well who said I left?
Becca: Grandma.
Bert: Oh.
Becca: So, why did you?
Bert: Well, you got all the answers, you tell me.
Becca: Because you didn't want mom.
Bert: Who told you that!
Becca and Bert: Grandma. (edit) Kathryn: (of Becca) Right now she's upset, frightened, angry.
Bert: Angry? Angry about what?
Kathryn: At her mom not being here, at this being her fifth school change in three years, and being taken away from her best friend and having to stay here with you, who she doesn't like very much.
Bert: Doesn't like me? She doesn't even know me!
Kathryn: From what I gather, her opinion of you comes from her mother and grandmother.
Bert: Well then you're right, she doesn't like me very much. (edit)

Goof: Bert is attached to a pulse oximeter at the hospital when he's on the telephone with Karl, but makes no motions to remove it before getting up from the bed and crossing the room.
