Fear Finds the Falls

Stan burglarizes the diner to prove Waterford Falls is not inviolable to crime.

Aired: 12/12/03

Show Summary

For ten years, "A Minute with Stan Hooper" has closed each episode of "Newsline," America's highest rated newsmagazine. In his "Minute" segments, Stan Hooper ( Norm Macdonald , " Norm ") has been telling real stories of real people that make up the fabric of America. But now Stan is making hisMore "Minute" more honest. He no longer wants to comment on life from a studio in midtown Manhattan. He wants to live in the vanishing America he has been talking about for a decade - a place where ordinary people enjoy life's simple pleasures, where people have never heard of cappuccino. So, Stan and his wife Molly ( Penelope Ann Miller , " The Closer ") are moving to Waterford Falls, Wisconsin. Stan thinks this small town they passed through on their honeymoon 15 years ago is the embodiment of the old-fashioned values and idyllic lifestyle he has been championing in his "Minute" reports. Except that the house that Stan and Molly rent comes with a butler, Gary ( Brian Howe ). And the local cheese mogul, Fred Hawkins' ( Fred Willard , " Maybe It's Me ") son, Ryan ( Eric Lively ), who is dating a waitress, Chelsea ( Reagan Dale Neis , " Maybe It's Me "), temporarily moves in with Stan and Molly. And that the two guys who own the local diner, Pete ( Daniel Roebuck ) and Lou Peterson ( Garret Dillahunt ), are a couple. Stan Hooper is a commentator on life, whose observations and insights will solve some problems while creating others.

    9.9 Superb

Stan Hooper I love it but a little to smart for some people as you can see from some of the reviews posted. hide show

Reading the reviews of this show anybody can see that some people just have a problem with Norm Mcdonald. I think he is great his humor is smart and almost all of the characters on this show are new and funny. Fred Willard as Fred Hawkins in the show was great on of he best characters on tv at the time. The feel of the show was very comfortable to most people I've asked about it. I am not sure who has it out for Norm Mcdonald in the showbiz world, but lots of my thirty something and late twenty something aged friends would like to know so we could tell that person that he is very funny and should be on the air.

This show sucks. Never bring it back. hide show

You could describe this show as a piece of crap. Why did Fox ever pick up this show. The plot of the story doesn't make sense why is he living in this place and where does eh work because hes still got his show. Like what the hell. Thank goodness they pulled this show because it was a dissappointment to the world. A huge dissappointment. So when ever you see someone from the cast of this show tell them that you have been dissappointed.

Can you believe they gave this idiot a second shot at a TV series? hide show

Please see my review of "Norm" and you'll understand why this show was doomed before it ever hit the airwaves. Five Words: Norm MacDonald is NOT funny.

They say this review has to be 50 words long so that it can be posted. I write this paragraph only to fulfill this requirement by five words.
