The Academy is gearing up for the Scaring Olympics. The Gromble wants desperately to win the competition and is pushing his students to do their best. Unfortunately, Krumm has swallowed an Indian feather that is tickling him on the inside.
Rookie Monsters:
Ickis, Krumm and Oblina get trapped in a garbage compactor and the only thing they can do is bicker. As their impending doom approaches, they remember their first days at The Academy.
If you think your school is a dump, think yourself lucky you don't go to the Monster Academy. It's an UNDERNEATH one! But then again, this is no ordinary school, and Ickis, Krumm and Oblina are no ordinary students either... Welcome to the land of AAAHH!!! Real Monsters , where, at the Monster… More Academy, up-and-coming students learn the terrifying tricks of the monster trade, and get the necessary qualifications for a life of advance scarifying (their GCS-Eeks?). Here, the insecure Ickis, the stinky-armpitted Krumm, and the candycane-shaped Oblina deal with issues like how to best scare supermarket shoppers, where to hide under the bed, and what to do with your eyeballs when you're not holding them in your mouth (here's a hint: juggle them). All of this goes on under the watchful eyes of their teacher, the fearful Gromble. While these walking nightmares always find new ways to get into trouble, they survive their adventures by sticking together, sometimes literally! Did you Know? A movie was once considered by the creators. *Characters* Ickis : A rabbit-eared, 34-toothed, yellow eyed, pink furred monster. He is constantly losing his Monster Manual. Hates Gromble. Krumm : Very hairy, with blue lips, and eyes held constantly in his hands. Usually he keeps his eyes in water at night or in his mouth when he needs his arms. Oblina : When you hear the term "Skinny as a stick", it's referring to Oblina. Has a white body with black stripes and bulging eyes like a slug or snail. Has four teeth, four strands of hair on her head, and the most intellegent of the bunch. She can even pull organs out of her body! Gromble : Has a green beard, green fur, black hands, yellow teeth, bulging eyes line Oblina's, and bright red lips. Head teacher of the Monster Academy. Constantly punishing Zimbo and Snorch. Common Quote: "Pay attention, Ickis."
Now joined this site had to post a message here about this show because it's just an underrated series. I think as Nick shows go it was criminally overshadowed and frankly better than many others I could name including the popular stuff both then & now. I'll write a review shortly but… More I'm now a fairly odd parents obsessive (but that came about though finding out about and watching repeats of this and then that following on after it) but this is 2nd only to that it was such an underrated show to repeat myself. I'll write that review one day.
this show was sooooooo cool when I was a kid! I know so many people who would want it reaired. it is just all( i mean all) of the old classic nick shows are excellent. it is just nick plays (excuse my language) but really crappy shows now

Better than Mighty Son Of A B! hide show
This was another good classical Nicktoon that crapped-out Nickelodeon had to cancel. it was the third best Klasky-Csupo cartoon next to The Simpsons and Duckman. I loved Ickis, he got himself into all sorts of trouble while trying to scare someone(much like Mike, from Monsters Inc). Krumm is sort of a creepy, but funny character. Krumm's eyeballs are not attached to his body, because he holds them in his hands. Olbina is a rich black and white monster that looks like a worm. The Gromble is the teacher, ehh... he wasn't too important. The Snorch is a big disabled monster who punishes the students who break the rules.There was another monster who looks like a bee with a hairy leg with green hair.Simon is the monster that tries to capture Ickis for some reason, I don't like him! He tries and tries and always fails. Why didn't he give up? He's my least fave of the show (much like Plankton). Overall, a good classical Nicktoon but had some potty humor at times. I could see how this show was related to The Simpsons.

Would be A+ if it didn't have potty humor *cough* Ren & Stimpy.
There are many shows that I think is fine,but I don't like them.I got Kablam,Rocko's Modern Life,Action League Now and Hey Arnold.This one is one of them.I like Ickis.He is my favorite character on this show.Well,Nick has put on a bunch of shows like the ones I just explainded to you earlier.Krumm is maybe fine,but Oliva or whatever her name is is pretty much ugly like her eyes.Ickis scare with his eyes turning red is great and this show is pretty great too.I grade this show a B because it's like my other fine shows on Nickelodeon that are not one of my favorites.

i remeber watching this show and loving it, i hope they bring it on dvd out here soon. this was one of the cartoons i would watch on Nick it great the story of a school where monsters go to learn and scare kids and the monsters there were great and the teacher just an awesome kids tv show.
the animation was great and a really funny cartoon and my fav monster was the one how he had to hold his eyes, it is just a great show. this show was so perfect for morning watching and thats when i will always remember watching it.

This program, like many of its fellow 1990's shows was a truly spectacular program. I grew up in the 90's and I can safely say that all those shows were just about perfect in my book. This show had it's bad sides, where it was a bit on the disgusting side, and sometimes it scared me, but it was always something that I looked forward to watching. It was thrilling, and definitely fun to see. I miss the show quite a bit now, and if it were to be put out on DVD, I would definitely want the episodes. If you ever see this show, give it a chance, I guarantee you'd love it.
