Celebrity boogie bodies include Priscilla Presley, Steve Guttenberg, Adam Carolla, Shannon Elizabeth, Penn Jillette.

On the scale of reality-show megahits, Dancing with the Stars prances in with a hearty nine out of 10. The ABC hit has done wonders for several celebrities (Marie Osmond got more camera time last year than ever, Helio Castroneves is now a household name, and Heather Mills rose out of the shadow of her ex-husband), and yesterday the network announced the next batch of famous people who will have a new chance to elevate their starpower.

The celebrities participating in the sixth season of the show are the typical motley bunch, including a magician, an NFL pro, a gold medalist, and an academy-award winner.

Following in the footsteps (footstep?) of once-married-to-a-music-legend Heather Mills, Priscilla Presley, wife of the late Elvis Presley, is this season's token woman "in her golden years."

Athletes are once again well represented, with Miami Dolphins sack-master Jason Taylor, nine-time Grand-Slam-tennis-event-winner Monica Seles, and megapopular ice-skater Kristi Yamaguchi lined up to cha-cha.

The mandatory hot young woman will be embodied by leggy brunette Shannon Elizabeth, best known for her performance as a frequently topless foreign-exchange student in American Pie.

This year's "Oh yeah I remember that guy!" guy is Steve Guttenberg, aka Cadet Mahoney from Police Academy. Guttenberg also starred in the 1980s films Cocoon and Short Circuit, as well as a stint as Woody Goodman in Veronica Mars.

Other notable dancing feet belong to The Man Show and Drawn Together's Adam Carolla, Children of a Lesser God and Nip/Tuck's Marlee Matlin, and R&B singer Mario.

The new season of Dancing with the Stars begins Monday, March 17 on ABC. ABC has not yet announced the professional dancing partners of the celebrities.

List of participating celebrities in alphabetical order:

Adam Carolla (voice of Spanky Ham in Drawn Together, former host of The Man Show, Loveline)
Cristian De La Fuente (Chilean actor who has been featured in Ugly Betty, CSI: Miami)
Shannon Elizabeth (actress, American Pie, Scary Movie)

Why do you put Marissa in such DRAB COLORS? If she had longer dresses and brighter ones she would out shine Christie. I do not think you are do her justice.

I am disappointed I had heard that Dr. Phil and his wife were going to be on Dancing With the Stars this season. Even though I am disappointed it will not stop me from being a devoted watcher of Dancing With the Stars.

this is one of the more disappointing seasons, especially with rumors like Kristy McNichol. but there's some people i like here, just no one i'm a "fan" of. I know Kristi's going to be great.
