Contrary to popular belief, Adam West was not the first actor to play Batman In 1943, Lewis Wilson portrayed Batman in a serial titled, The Batman and in 1949, Robert Lowery played the role in another serial titled, Batman and Robin. (edit)
In Hawaii, West landed a role as the sidekick on a children's show called The Kini Popo Show, which featured a chimp. West later took over as the star of the show. (edit)
