Christien Anholt previously played Nigel Bailey on AI's predecessor show, Relic Hunter. Much of the production crew and writers on AI were involved in that show too. The character he plays here is initially almost the antithesis of the overly chatty Nigel and one suspects the "going off thing" at the end might either be intended as an in-joke, or a set up for him to return in the future. (edit) This show marks the typical mid-season switchover for similarly produced shows (Highlander, Relic Hunter) where having wrapped up the first half of filming in the U.S./Canada, they jump over to Western Europe for the second half of the season.
