Flight BA38 's Crash Landing
What started as a normal and ordinary flight ended in chaos for British Airways flight BA38 when it crash landed at London's Heathrow Airport on Thursday (17th January, 08 ). No death's have been reported, 12 people have minor injuries and only one with serious injuries.
So what exactly caused all this to happen? The pilot has said that the Boeing 777 lost power in both engines, 2 miles from landing leaving the co-pilot, John Coward, literally 40 seconds to land the plane safely.
Describing the moment theflight from Beijing finally cleared the fence and skidded on grass short of the runway, he commented: "I didn't think we'd clear the fence at first. As we landed I was bracing myself for an enormous thud. But instead of one thud, there was a series of thuds as it bounced along the grass. Eventually it shuddered to a halt. While I was trying to stop the plane, I struggled to try and keep it in a straight line. I turned around and composed myself and heard a lot of commotion behind me. He also added: "I realised the staff were trying to carry out drills to evacuate all the the passengers. Everything had to be done to ensure the safety of our passengers, as well as everybody else on board."

Witnesses said the aircraft missed the tops of houses by less than 200ft as the pilot wrestled to regain control and was only 20ft off the ground as it cleared the A30 - a busy dual carriageway.
A tragic disaster narrowly avoided? Definitely.
An investigation has begun into what caused the jet to lose all power.
