With the new season, Hawke and Dominic have new Airwolf flight-suits. More silvery-grey in colour that the bluey-grey ones of the first season, their other main distinguishing difference is the much higher collar. This style of fight-suit would be used for the rest of the show's run, including when Caitlin joined the Airwolf pilot crew, and onto the Canadian-filmed 4th season.
(edit)
The bi-plane that we see Dominic working on when we first see him and Hawke in this episodes looks as if it's probably the same one used in 'To Snare A Wolf'. (As we never found out what happened to Toni, the owner of the plane, after that episode, it's not clear whether it's meant to be the same plane within the context of the series).
(edit)
Also with the new season, a new sequence of Airwolf taking off from the Lair is used, using matte paintings to give a far more convincing look. It's far more impressive that the (not always convincing) first season style, which generally just consisted of Airwolf rising from behind a ridge of rocks.
(edit)
Lance LeGault here plays the corrupt Sheriff Bogan; he'd previously played Government agent D.G. Bogard in the previous season's final episode, 'To Snare A Wolf'; meaning that nowadays on re-runs (assuming the episodes are being broadcast in order), he appears in two consecutive episodes in different role (The noticeable similarity between the names "Bogard" and "Bogan" may well be deliberate). Jeff Mackay, who had also appeared in 'To Snare A Wolf' as Sergeant Willie Nash, also appears in this episode as a different character.
(edit)
Alex Cord (Archangel) does not appear in this episode. It is the first episode of the series not to feature him and thus, the first not to concern The Firm (reflecting CBS's wishes to broaden the series).

Dom: (about Caitlin) She's uhh, kinda cute, huh?
String: Cute? She's a kid!
Dom: (sarcastically) Oh, I didn't know the Texas Highway Patrol let kids fly their choppers. Well, you know what they say....
String: What?
Dom: "They always get their man."
String: (getting testy) That's the Canadian Mounties!
Dom: Same principle.
[sings]
"There's a yellow rose in Texas, that I am gonna see,
Nobody else could miss her, not half as much as me,
Ohhh, she cried so when I left her, it like to make me cry,
And if I ever find her, we nevermore will part! (edit) (String and Dom are lifting off from the Lair in Airwolf)
Dom: Well, nothing in three months seems to have bothered her. All systems are in the green!
String: Well, what are we waiting for?
Dom: Awwww, I was hoping you'd say that!
(String hits the turbos, leaving the Valley of the Gods) (edit) Sheriff Bogan: (to his Deputy) I catch you with your boots on my desk again Bobby, and you're momma's gonna be wearin' black. (edit) Sheriff Bogan: (to Caitlin) Meter maid, you go stickin' your butt in where it's not wanted, it's gonna get kicked, no matter how cute it is. (edit)

The two bullet hole cracks that Sheriff Bogan fires into the windshield of Caitlin's helicopter during the story's climax, seem to have disappeared in following shots.
(edit)
Nitpick: At Santini Air, Dominic comments that it's been a nice quiet two months without any Firm/Airwolf missions, yet in the Lair as they retrieve Airwolf, he comments that "three months" doesn't seem to have affected her. (In fairness, it could just be assumed that he's just giving a rough estimate to how long they've been out of action).
(edit)
In the opening scene, just before Jimmy's motorbike crashes over the ravine, as he looks over his shoulder at the pursuing Sheriff Bogan, it is concrete on the ground, not desert sand – the shot is taken from a few moments earlier, when he was on the road.
