Alan lists his most treasured possession as his guitar.
(edit)
Alan would love to work with Robert Duvall sometime.
(edit)
Alan: My Mum bought me a guitar when I was quite young, and I always plodded along with it.

Alan: I live in mortal fear of anyone who takes themselves too seriously.

Alan: (on public reactions when he left his wife, Susan, in 'Neighbours') There was a small group of mainly young men who considered me to be a total legend for hooking up with Nat Bassingthwaighte (Izzy)! And then there was the vast bulk of the audience saying, 'Karl's mad. When will he get back together with Susan?'
(edit)
Alan: (on the Izzy storyline in 'Neighbours') It was fantastic. Polarising an audience is part of good drama. If you played Mr Nice Guy, it would be so boring. Karl has plenty of arrogance; he can be abrasive and competitive. He has a lot of flaws, so that's interesting to play.
(edit)
Alan: (after playing the same character on 'Neighbours' for 12 years) I love playing Karl because he's changed so much - especially in the last five years.
