A native of Salisbury, MD, Denisof grew up in Seattle, where he began his acting career in productions at the distinguished ACT (A Contemporary Theatre). Following high school, Denisof continued his training overseas when he was accepted at the prestigious London Academy of Music & Dramatic Arts. Upon graduation, he gained his first national exposure in a George Harrison rock video, which led to his feature film debut in the British film Murder Story. His other film credits include the Sundance Film Festival hit The Misadventures of Margaret opposite Parker Posey and Brooke Shields, True Blue and First Knight.

While in London, Denisof enjoyed an equally prolific stage career, appearing as a member of the prestigious Royal Shakespeare Company in Hamlet, opposite Ian McKellan.

Denisof is a veteran of several television projects including HBO's Hostile Waters and the television miniseries Noah's Ark, opposite Jon Voight and Mary Steenburgen.

In 1997, Alexis was cast as the bumbling, arrogant replacement Watcher for Buffy Summers on the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The character was supposed to be in only a few episodes, but Alexis was such a fan favorite that Wesley was brought back on the spin-off series Angel. Alexis became a series regular midway through the first season (1999) and remained through the final episode in 2004.

While working on the two series, Alexis met Alyson Hannigan, who played the character of Willow on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The two became friends quickly, and when everyone assumed that they were dating they decided to take the plunge. They were engaged after a year and were married on October 11, 2003. Alexis Denisof is a gifted and talented actor. I don't always feel he gets enough credit. Wesley was by far one of my absolute favorite characters in Buffyverse. I think I cried the hardest for him when the show ended. And of course that had somewhat to do with the writing, but I don't think I would've loved that character as much if he hadn't been playing him. I love what they did with his character too. The character development in Wesley was the most drastic in my opinion. Wesley season 3 Buffy is no where near Angel season 5, but I can go and watch Bad Girls and follow it up with Not Fade Away and know that is the same person. He is so dedicated. I miss seeing him on TV on a regular basis.

Alexis plays Wesley Windum Price in Angel, and does one hell of an acting job at it, he comes into the show during mid season 1 and just brings laughter right with him, but as the years go by he loses that sense of humor, but at times shows signs of his comical side. He eventually dies in the end of the show which is sad. 9.5 out of 10 for Alexis Denisof.

Alexis took Alexis from a tightly wound, almost sniveling at times, inexperienced character that we weren't sure we would ever see again to a prominant and important character that was key to plot lines and became quite a tortured rogue gun toating caring man that we all loved. I know Wesley was a personel favorite amoung fans and not just myself. And it defenitely took skill to change ac haracter so much over the span of the years. He added on layers to him that weren't that evident when we first met him and gave him comedic skill as well as dark brooding tendancies. In the later season 4 of Angel he almost over shadowed Angel himself with his brooding skills.

Alexis Denisof is a great actor. I never heard of him until I saw him on Buffy. At first I did not like him as Wesley when he appeared on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I thought he was a bit stuck up but then as he made more apperances on the show, he grew on me and I am happy that he joined Angel in Angel's first season.

When he was on Angel and Buffy he was funny, charming and mysterious. On Angel, he kept the story moving along. At least that is what i think. I hope to see more of him in the future.

I agree with MissAJ Alexis is a great actor he is funny charming mysterious and for me he kept the story moving I enjoyed his work in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and also Angel. And I would really love to se more of his work since i think he is great. xxx love me xxx
