Peyton tells Sloane that she has made a deal for the Rambaldi Sphere with an ally in China. Sloane arranges for stolen missiles to be sent to Hong Kong. Sloane's plan is revealed to the APO members, who race to stop him before he can use the Rambaldi Sphere to put the plan in motion. But this all leads to a long awaited confrontation between Sydney and Irina.

At the close of the series Jennifer Garner and Victor Garber are the only actors to appear in every episode with Ron Rifkin coming very close missing only the penultimate episode of season 4. (edit)
Rachel Nichols (Rachel Gibson) was supposed to take over as head of the show when Jennifer Garner left at the end of season 5. But again due to low ratings in season 5 the show was canceled. (edit)
Originally this season was going to run for 22 episodes like the other four seasons. But due to lower ratings in season 5 ABC cut the number of episodes to just 17. (edit)

"Painful to watch"
Everyone praising this episode has no idea of just how horrible this episode and all of its previous episodes (excluding the first two seasons) are.
