Sydney's dealings with her mother lead Jack to take drastic measures to ensure his daughter's safety. Meanwhile Will is confronted by a mysterious woman about resurrecting his story on SD-6.
Read Full Recap » (warning: possible spoilers!)That one was clever. I loved the way they did some of the scenes - like Sydney talking with her mother the same time father was with the shrink.. the way the motion was carried out..
But most of all I liked the story developments. Sydney's mum letting them walk into that trap. And how she reacted to that. It all went as her father promised - her intel will be right, once or twice.. but in the end, there is a trap.
And how they tried to get something out of Will. I did not even thought that she was on mission.
And the whole thing with Sloane's wife.. that storyline is taking wings too.
I thought Sydneys mother would ahve played more of a role in Season 2 then a four episode stroy arch, but maybe the writers figure it was her 4 episode apperence that will be with us the entire season with Sydney, rather then having her there every episode. I did like the scenes with her in them, watching her interact with Sydney. I think everyone watching the show knew what Jack knew - that one day she was going to do something that would have put Sydneys life in danger. I liked Jacks plan of getting rid of Sydneys mother, by hiring someone to make sure the mission was going to fail. Sark is becoming the best villian of all time in television show history. I dont know how the guy continues to show up everywhere. His apprences remind me of the K-Directerrete person that Sydney used to see in every episode last season at the most random times. His disapearring act is very weird, but thats what continues to draw me to this show. The "Emily Sloane" storyline is also just down right weird, dont know where the show is going with that but I certainy hope there is some kind of a reaosn her name showed up on the hotels manifest. Fantastic episode.
This episode shows just how far Jack will go to keep Irina out of his and Sydney’s lives. hide show
I had been wondering for a while how far Jack would go to keep Sydney away from her mother and in this episode you defiantly get your answer
The episode has some nice scene graphics in Russia and a few good fights although this episode seemed kind of gun heavy. While the explosion at the end was done with blinding light I kind of liked it and the burning house in the back looked good.
Everyone’s been doing a great job as usual. The highlights are once again Sydney and her mother and their conversations with each other. I thought Will did a good job with his scenes in the rehab center, keeping the audience guessing on if he was going to tell her about SD-6 or not.
I’ll start off with Will’s subplot first. It was pretty obvious for me that the girl was working for SD-6 from the very beginning however it makes total sense. Sloan wants to cover his back and wants to make sure Will wont be a problem it’s only logical that they would test him to make sure he was a no risk. The main plot here really centers on Sydney becoming ever closer to her mother. Jack sees this happening sees Sydney falling under her spell so to speak and takes matters into his own hands. He becomes extremely reckless and making sure that the CIA and especially Sydney lose trust in Irina become more important then anything else. Because of him the operation manual to Irina’s entire network is lost. That Bible could have brought down her entire organization along with other organizations like it but Sydney’s trust with her mother was more important to Jack then anything else.

Cool episode. I love Alias! hide show
The episode was cool but come on, Sydney would have froze in the water in a matter of seconds. It really is a miracle that she managed to get out from under the ice.
What does Irena want with the earings? I don't think it's because they have sentimental value. There's definately something hidden in them. That woman is so evil. I love her!
Will was smart, he didn't let that spy from SD-6 trick him into saying anything he shouldn't.
Sydney is starting to really care for her mother, Jack saw this & wanted Syd to think that her mother betrayed her trust. What will happen when she finds out that Jack was behind the explosion.
My favorite quote for the day:
Irina: How do you say "thank you" to the woman who killed your father?
Vaughn: (pause) You don't.
Oh, how I loved that moment.
