Howard: It's funny, man made this food, men need this food, food doesn't need men, food doesn't say 'bite me, chew me, swallow me', that probably hurts them. People shouldn't turn their backs on food, because someday the food could turn on them. Instead of us eating the food, it could be the other way around.
(edit)
Alice: (to the Howard, the pharmacist) You're so obsessed about taking your life to prove a point that you haven't noticed that somebody's listening to you. Me. I have a big mouth, right? (Vera and Phylis agree) Okay, so you tell me something, I tell him (Mel), he tells somebody else. That's how you make things happen, by talking to people. In order to look after other people's lives you have to start by saving your own.

Alice: (about the pharmacist) To make things worse, two weeks ago his wife left him and his dog died.
Mel: Should've been the other way around. (edit) (while mentioning all the sickening ingredients in food, Howard holds up a tablet)
