Amanda donated items to Rocky Stone to be given to less fortunate kids as part of the Toy Mountain Campaign. (edit) The light blue dress that Amanda wore at the end of Hairspray ended up being so small, she essentially had to be sewn into it, according to film director Adam Shankman. (edit) In 2008, actress Brittany Snow--who co-starred with Amanda in Hairspray--acknowledged that Amanda is one of only two girls she knows who is truly satisfied with her body. "I admire that, and I like to be around that," Brittany once said in an interview with Seventeen Magazine. (edit) In 2008, Amanda acknowledged that she definitely went through some "growing pains" with her parents. At one point, she wanted a fancy new car, but her parents ended up using Amanda's money to buy her the exact same, less glamorous car that her two older siblings had, and that really upset Amanda. She says that personal counseling has helped a lot, although her parents aren't always thrilled with her hair-dying choices, or when they think she wears too much makeup. Still, Amanda credits her mother and father for "guiding her and making sure she never fell off the deep end." (edit) Amanda has been known to run up to her co-stars and give them big hugs on the first day of shooting for her movies. Many of her Sydney White co-stars also commented that she is extremely friendly and open to fans who come up to her for pictures and autographs. (edit)

(edit) Amanda Bynes: I enjoy doing things that are scary or things that some girls might not like because it won't let them look gorgeous. Like, in my new movie [She's the Man], I play a boy, and every day they'd pin my hair back, and I'd have no makeup. That's when you start relying more on your sense of humor. (edit) Amanda Bynes: I'm a good person, and I don't want to undermine anyone. I don't want to make anyone look stupid. I don't talk badly about people. I just try to be a nice girl, and that's the best way to stay out of it. Some people have such big egos that they have to knock people down just to get ahead. I'm just who I am, and I'm a person who's very lucky. But my life is my family, not my job. If it ever got too crazy I'd be like, "Okay, I'm checking out now!" (edit)
