Amanda appeared in several minor roles in various movies throughout the late '90s before landing her first major role and Hollywood break in the 2000 film The Whole Nine Yards co-starring Matthew Perry and Bruce Willis.

Her memorable performance as a dental hygienist in the comedy hit brought on more movie roles for Peet as she starred in popular films like Whipped (2000), Saving Silverman (2001), Identity (2003), and A Lot Like Love (2005).
