Jake, Trixie, and Spud become junior counselors at \"Camp Mugwomp"/, an old 2 week summer camp that Jake used to go to when he was younger. Each counselor is teamed up with a group of kids, where they compete to win the Mugwomp Cup. Jake wants this trophy so bad, because he almost won it 7 years ago, but lost to Brad Morton.

But Jake's chances of winning start to fade, once he actually meets his and Spud's team. All of their kids are not athletic, or good enough to even have a chance at beating Brad's team. But Jake decides to train them really hard to get them ready.

During one night, Brad decides to share an old campfire story, to every one. This story is about how this very same camp used to be a prison back in the civil war. And the baddest of the bad's name was Shackles Jack. Legend has it that when all the planets align, Shackles Jack and his crew will rise from their graves as ghost. Jake's team of kids believed the story, and ran away screaming. But Jake convinces them that ghosts are not real, and there is nothing to worry about. But what they don't know how, is that the story was actually true, and Shackles Jack and his gang actually did rise up as ghosts.

The day before the competition starts, one of Jake's kids gets a hurt ankle. Even with his injury however, Jake still pushes the little guy hard to be prepared for tomorrow. Trixie tries telling him that it he is just pushing them hard, just so he can win the cup for himself, and that the kids need to have fun.

During the competition, Jake's team is tied with Brad's team. To decide a winner, the last person on their team must run through the forest, and whoever comes there first wins. The kid with the hurt leg is the only one left. But Jake then realizes, Trixie's right, and that he can't force him to run on a hurt leg. With that said, Jake pulls his team out of the race, and Brad's team wins. But the trophy is the same vessel that Shackles Jack and his crew will use to transfer their souls into the first people to touch it. The ghosts steal Brad and his team, and take them to a cave.

In the end, Jake and his friends head off into the cave, to save Brad and his team and stop Shackles Jack. Even though Jake didn\'t win the Mugwomp Cup, is still so proud of his team doing so well.
