We find out in this episode that Rotwood believed dragon claws glow in the dark and have a faint smell of lavender. (edit) This is this the first and only episode in Season 1 where we get to see Trixie's Mom. (edit) Rotwood suspects Jake of being a dragon. (edit) This episode takes place before 'Act 4, Scene 15' because Spud and Trixie knew about the magical creatures. (edit) First aired in Disney Channel Asia on February 20,2005. (edit)

Spud: I wonder if my mom even knows her lasagna escaped. (edit) Store owner: That will be $600 wrapped
Trixie: Did you just say $600
Spud: How much for it un-wrapped? (edit) Trixie: Should'nt you be on the wheel?
Grandpa: I don't have a license.
Trixie: But the talking dog does.
Grandpa: Well, he has a dog license.
Fu : Hey, the talking dog is trying to concentrate over here. (edit) Trixie: tapping on Jake's head (in dragon form) Is it dead?
Spud: It's still breathing. (Opens Jake's mouth) Breathing fire. (Jake farts) Out of both ends.
Trixie: Breathin' and tootin' fire, hold fast. (edit) Trixie: Jake. He's a dragon, ain't he?
Grandpa: (nervous) Jake? A dragon? No! Ah, the imagination of the young is like a... butterfly in the rain.
Spud: Jake's a dragon, but that probably means you're one too. Right?
Grandpa: (still nervous) Well, I...
Fu Dog: Cut the act, Gramps. They know. How ya doing, kids?
Trixie: AAAHHH!!! It's that creepy dog puppet! And look, it really talks.
Fu dog: Very perceptive, sweetheart. Check out the king-sized brain on this one.
Spud: After today, nothing will ever surprise me again. (edit)

In both instances when the photos are shown prior to Jake printing them out (live and on the computer screen), the backgrounds are clearly visible. When the printouts Jake makes appear in all successive scenes, it's just Jake (in dragon form) on a white sheet of paper. (edit) We find out Trixie's last name in the episode. It's Carter. (edit) The gold piece that the leprechaun handed Jake could of been worth a lot more or even worse a lot less. (edit) When Spud sits on Jake's computer turning it on, there are three photos of Jake dragoning up, then three photos of Jake posing in dragon form. But Haley never took any pictures when Jake dragoned up. (edit) For being obsesed with magical creatures Rotwood dosn't know that much about them.
(Response: There have been a lot of misconception about magical creatures according to the show, and he only mentioned innacuracies about dragon claws and scales. Besides, he might have been thinking of a dragon of a different nationality. Dragons from different areas are unique) (edit)

Title: Fairly Odd Parents
Professor Rootwood seems to act very similar to Mr. Crocker on the Fairly Odd Parents. Both are observe about something magical, both aren't believed when they say they saw one (magical creature), both aren't respected by there students, and both are suspicious of the main character being or associated with a magical creature (in Crocker's case fairly god parents, in Rootwoods case dragons). (edit) Haley: "My brother doesn't want anybody to know that he sleeps with a night light every night sence he was two."
This quote also was said in the Kim Possible episode 'Hidden Tallent'. (edit) Title: Mr. Holland's Opus
This title is a reference to the movie Mr. Holland's Opus. (edit) Jake: "It's way better than that lasagna picture you took."
Jake getting picture of himself as the American Dragon for money is reference to Spiderman. Peter Parker takes pictures of himself as Spiderman for money, ironically the story of Spiderman is set where Jake lives, New York City. (edit)
