Jake starts feeling bad for Spud, once he finds out that Spud's new dream in life is to be a magical hero, just like him. So Trixie and him suggest they go to a magical swamp, and let Spud catch a magical frog so he can be the hero for once. However, 88 and 89 have the same idea, so they go off into the swamp also to catch that same frog to get some 'street cred' so magical creatures will fear them. Both team dragon and the hunts-chumps go after the frog, but in the end Spud is the one who retrieves it. But when the frog accidentally bites Spud, the next day at school Spud has a few body changes. Turns out the frog gave him all the powers of a human size frog. Until Fu can make the antidote to cure him, Spud had to continue going to school, and keep a low profile of his magical powers. But Spud is so happy with is new powers, he ends up misusing them doubt Jake's warning. Once the antidote is ready, Spud is convinced his life is way better with these magical powers, and refuses to take it. After, Spud, Stacey, and his new 'friends' go out, 88 and 89 find Spud with a new tracking device set on tracking a magical frog. They capture Spud, and take him to the Scoop. Stacey runs into Trixie and Jake, and alerts them that Spud was kidnapped. Then, Jake and Trixie go to help Spud, but end up getting caught by 88 and 89 too. But they find a way to escape, and try fighting off the two huntsmen. But with their new Huntsclan weapons they found, it seems impossible to run from them when their tracking device is set on Spud. To let them lose his track, Spud takes the antidote, and loses all his frog powers. Then Jake goes after the hunts-punks, and finishes them off. In the end, Spud discovers that you don't need magical powers, to be a hero.
