The episode starts as the whole Long family (Lao Shi, Jake, Haley, Trixie, Spud, Susan, Jonathan, and Fu) are in a hotel in Hong Kong. Jake and the rest of the family assume it's just some normal vacation, but they soon find out there's actually a meeting for all the world's dragons on Victoria Peak where the first Dragon Temple was built. This meeting happens every 1,000 years, and will only appear during this rare eclipse. At first Jake is bummed out, but Fu explains that this meeting is only a couple of hours long, so the rest of the days then can spend it relaxing.
Jake starts to have feelings for Rose again, and stares at the picture of them both as he looks over the Harbor. He still is having trouble letting go, especially since she is somewhere here.
Chang and Bananas watch over Jake and the rest of the gang in the hotel. She briefly mentions that everything is going according to plan...
The next morning, the whole group is tired by Jonathan's enthusiasm to see a ton of sites. They stop for a break, but they soon realize that Jonathan has a magical tour book. Haley and Susan go after him, to try and retrieve it back...
Just then, Chang rides by on a golf cart, and traps Lao Shi in a net and drives by. Jake, Trixie, and Spud chase after her with some wheels. Her vehicle leads them to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.
The three head inside and soon realize it is a trap. Suddenly, the Dark Dragon appears in front of them, a lot larger and stronger than before. Jake fights him, but his effort is a small one. Chang and he tell Jake that the only way he could get his grandfather back, is to slip this potion into everyone's drinks into tonight’s meeting. Before anything else could go down, Chang, Bananas, and he vanish away.
Jake grabs the potion, and let's Fu examine it. Fu tells them that it is a mind control potion, and that if he were to slip this into their drinks, it would give the Dark Dragon a free pass to take over the Magical World!!
Jonathan then approaches the group, and takes them to a magical eating diner. Luckily, he thinks all the magical creatures are people in costumes...
Haley, Fu, Jake, Spud, and Trixie sit at another table and discuss the issue going on. Fu feels that if that the Dark Dragon could be too powerful, since most dragons aren't use to fighting other dragons. Jake goes into that topic, saying he knows someone who is, and brings out the picture of Rose. Jake then tells him that he could try to find her, and make her help them slay the Dark D. He also mentions he looked up where she went to school at. Spud argues that she doesn't remember being in the Huntsclan, but Jake thinks they have no choice. With that, he left the restaurant in search of Rose while Spud and Trixie looks for an abandon Huntsclan lair here in Hong Kong.
Out of the corner, we see Rose wave good-bye to her friend, and head home. Just then, Jake appears out the corner and says hi. She responds, and tries to avoid him. But Jake goes up to her, and says her name. Confused, Rose asks if he knows him. He responds by saying she did, and that they went to school together. He then decides to tell the truth about Rose being born into the Huntsclan and living in an alternate reality that he wished for her. Of course though, Rose doesn't believe a thing.
Meanwhile, Trixie and Spud drag Jonathan, Haley, and Susan to a nearby Huntsclan lair. There, they grab some Huntstaffs for the battle tonight. But it wasn't long, before Jonathan pressed the self-destruct button.
Jake doesn't give up that easily. He follows her, trying to explain. But more and more, Rose just wanted him to leave her alone!! Jake then goes to tell her that he's a dragon also, which creeps her out even more. He then rushes over and grabs her arm, showing her the birthmark. Jake stares into her eyes, telling her to do the same; to look hard enough, to remember him. Rose grabs her phone, saying that if he had proof, to show her there.
Both Rose and Jake enter into her house. Jake takes off his jacket, which had his picture of them both on top. Suddenly, Rose stands in front of her parents. Jake is shocked that she called them. She goes to explain that she thinks he is having weird delusions and he needs help letting go. Jake tries to prove himself by dragoning up, but the cops grab him and drag him out of her house and into the cop car. Jake dragons up, and busts out. He looks up at the moon, and realizes that the eclipse already started, and started to fly toward Victoria Peak.
The rest of the crew headed back to the hotel. Trixie and Spud got the Huntstaffs ready. Haley dragoned up to practice her fight moves, just right when Jonathan came through the door. He screamed out, and eventually fainted.
Susan explains to him that he married into a family of dragons. He admits that this is a little too much, that he wanted to learn about Susan's side of the family. But Fu explains to him that Jake is in serious trouble right now, so doubt all his weird thoughts going through his head, he needed to help his son. They all head into the car, for Victoria Peak.
Jake lands into the Dragon Temple. Sun calls to Jake, asking him where Lao Shi and Haley were. Jake lies and says that they're in traffic, and he secretly pours the potion into everyone's drinks.
Once he is done, the Dark D, Chang, and Bananas appear in the center of the Temple. He then tells them they are all under a mind control potion, and commands Sun to destroy Councilor Andam. But just as Sun turned toward him, giant ears appeared on her head. All around, dragons transformed into odd animals. Jake explains that he poured transformation tea in their drinks instead.
At that moment, the rest of the Long Family enters into the temple. Haley frees Grandpa. In rage, the Dark Dragon sent out his shades.
All the world's dragons fly up, to fight the shades, while Gramps and Jake take on the Dark D. But it wasn't long before Jonathan held up a shiny cup toward the shining light, which made all the shades disappear instantly. Angered, the Dark D let's out some powerful magical, zapping at any oncoming dragons. He then went on to explain he is so powerful, that it's too easy to take over. Everyone is starting to have doubts, if they can actually take him down.
Just then, Rose appears from the top of the temple. She flings herself toward the Dark Dragon. Jake flies over, and hands her a Huntstaff. They all watch, and Rose starts to take on the Dark D.
Suddenly, the whole temple starts to slowly fade. Fu explains to them that they have to hurry and get out, or they'll be stuck in this temple for 1,000 years! All the dragons rush out, but Rose and the Dark Dragon are still locked in combat.
As the Temple tumbles down, the Dark D is trapped under a pile of rocks. Rose tries to run from them, but her foot is caught. Jake's stunned, and flies forward. Lao Shi holds Jake back, but he pushes him out of the way saying he won't let her go, not this time. With Jake's help, Rose's leg is free. But just as Jake flies Rose out, the Dark Dragon grabs his foot with his tail.
As the Temple and the Dark D are pulled into the vortex, Jake tries to break free of the Dark D's grip. A smug grin appears on the Dark Dragon's face, as he thinks as long as he is going down they are going with him. But just then, Rose gets her Huntstaff and cuts through his tail. The Dark Dragon falls into the vortex, and Jake and Rose make it out safely.
Everyone cheers for their victory. Rose reaches over by Jake, and kisses him. Once their done, Jake asks how she could remember him. She then pulls out a picture from her pocket, the one of them at the dance. She mentions that it brought back some memories.
The whole gang heads back for the hotel. Lao Shi congratulates his grandson, for the great job he had done. Jake's attention this is turned to his dad, who seems to be pretty content about the news he just learned about his family. Jonathan responds by saying he always knew there was something magical about his family. Jake gives him a hug, saying there's something magical about him too!!
