It is lunchtime once again, and Spud is dreaming about him and Stacey. Of course, his fantasies are interrupted when Rotwood makes an announcement about Fillmore Feast, where he will be showing their parents about the school. To show exactly how not to dress or act, he points out none other than Jake Long. Completely humiliated by Rotwood, Jake swears he'll pay him back. Right after that incident, Spud starts to cry from the onion he was eating. Stacey then walks by, sees him crying, and tells him that sensitive guys are hot.
That night at Fillmore Fest, Jake messes with Rotwood's teleprompter. But just changing one line of his speech soon escalates into even more trouble, and soon he desecrates the Millard Fillmore wooden statue build for this occasion. The parents find this offensive, and by the next day of school, Rotwood was fired.
Not only did this make Jake happy, the whole school loved him for what he did. The new Principal was named Brock, and he seemed very nice for a principal. But it was a big change, from Rotwood.
Right after, people started screaming about something unnatural in the basement. Figuring it was magical, Jake and the crew checked it out. It turned out to be these giant magical bugs, all collected in that area. Unable to use his dragon powers at school, Jake takes down the bugs still in human form. However, Trixie and Spud suddenly run off, when they see Brock right at Jake. He asks him to come with him to his office.
There, Brock starts to yell at Jake about a dragon at the school. Turns out Brock used to be Rotwood's old teacher. He was also a mythologist researcher and had read Rotwood's files about him, Trixie and Spud, believing one of them was a dragon. Jake denied any accusations, but Brock soon brought out a potion. A potion that would render any human disguise, to reveal the dragon's true form. Luckily, only a drop landed on his hand, and Brock wasn't able to see it tucked inside his pocket. But when he was gone, Jake lifted up his hand to see it had transformed into his dragon claws.
Jake right away tells Gramps back at the shop. Both he and Fu agree that he must get Brock fired, just as he did to Rotwood. However, it's a lot harder the second time around.
But Jake gets a bit of help when he finds Rotwood scavenging in a dumpster. He offers his old principal a place in his basement, when Rotwood finds out Brock was the one to replace him. While at Jake's house though, Rotwood found an interesting picture of a dragon. Jake makes up a quick lie, but Rotwood thinks otherwise…
When Trixie and Spud show up, they start work on a plan Jake created. The four of them were going to break into the school, and steal the fund raising money in Brock's office to get him fired, so Rotwood would get his job back. But the plan goes all wrong, and eventually Brock finds out about the whole thing. If things couldn't get any worse, Rotwood then finds out that it was Jake who changed the teleprompter, and got him fired. Rotwood leaves the Long house, and makes a small stop at Principal Brock's office…
The next day, Jake finds himself running out of time. Jake, Trixie, and Spud decide to steal the potion from his office, before it was too late. However when they break inside, Brock captures them and traps them all inside a cage so they wouldn't escape.
Brock brings the teens out into the public, where he was having a press conference about the dragon's human identity. As he voices out to the people, Jake believes this is it, everything's over. Then, Brock holds the potion, and splashes out on the cage. But, instead of throwing it on Jake, he throws it on Spud. When Spud doesn't change, Brock yells at Rotwood because he knows he told him the wrong person. However, it was too late, because right after, Brock was carried away to jail. Rotwood then makes a speech about how he cares about children, which in the end gives him his job back.
In the next scene, Jake and the crew are sitting at lunch. Spud is sad because Stacey eventually found out he was using onions to fake cry, but Jake was pleased that Brock thought the dragon was Spud. Suddenly, Rotwood appears right behind Jake. He puts out a hand, to thank him for getting his job back. Jake agrees, and shakes his hand. However, Rotwood holds Jake's hand a lot longer than he expected. Jake starts to panic and tries to break free from his grip. Then, when Jake lets go, his hand has turned into his dragon claws! Rotwood lifts up his sleeve, to reveal the last drop of Brock's potion. Rotwood continues to say that he always suspected it was Jake, and he will find a way to reveal him, someday.
