Roxanne decides she is done with boys, and is ready for men and develops a crush for Michael Brooks. However, Roxanne is too afraid to talk to him herself, and sends Meg instead, who talks to Michael Brooks about him and Roxanne, but signals get crossed. Afterwards, Michael enlists Meg's help to put together a memory lane show. But when Meg gives Roxanne her report she leaves out this part and when Roxanne finds out from someone else, she gets mad at Meg. The track team stars, J.J. and Sam, race the traditional run around the school and Sam comes out victorious. After this J.J. decides he's tired of being the one to push Sam, and wants to pass him, and decides to give it his all when they're running around town. But the consequences are devastating when J.J. falls, and Sam has to try and get help, but of course, no one will stop for Sam. Will and his friends are getting ready for their "first communion" but when Patty walks them home, she gives them something else to think about. When Mr. Pryor finds out about this, he has a serious talk with Patty and tell her she has to believe. Patty then gets in trouble at the school and they begin to wonder what's going on at their house, which leads Mr. Pryor to wonder why Patty has to be so different. Will goes to his first confession and discovers his fear of not knowing what to confess wasn't anything to worry about. When a young classmate of Helen's falls ill, Helen goes to help her out. When she finds out that she doesn't feel good because she lost a pregnancy, Helen sympathizes with her. But when she finds out Amy received an abortion, Helen is shocked and confused about her disapproval and wanting to help out this girl who reminds her of Meg. She goes back to try and help Amy, and is faced with someone who challenges her beliefs and discovers, maybe something she said or did left an impression. And Mrs. Pryor faces the fact that Meg is growing up and she has to be more open with her. Nathan still isn't happy with his job at Pryor TV and Radio and wants something more… or less… he inspires Henry to present his idea of a second store in North Philly. When Mr. Pryor says he likes the idea, Nathan still is upset when Mr. Pryor doesn't offer Henry a raise.
