Viewers should be aware that at the time of this show - Early Jan 1964 - Freshman at colleges were NOT allowed to play varsity sports. (An NCAA rule change was made in 1973 to allow freshman to play). So JJ would NOT have played for the Irish on the football team but would have rather been on a Freshman Team that played other schools on Fridays, was not reported much if at all to the outside world, and definitely would not be on TV since the NBC/Notre Dame contract was signed many years later. Luke: I'll have a soda. (Roxanne walks to kitchen) Oh, and get one for my girlfriend too. (Everyone stares at them) (edit) Luke: What did you want me to say?
Meg: When?
Luke: At Bandstand.
Meg: Nothing. Did you even?- nothing.
Luke: All right then. (walks away)
Meg: Wait. (Luke turns around) Why did you kiss me? On Christmas Eve? Did you feel sorry for me? Did you think I looked pretty then, and I haven't looked pretty since? Do you ever think about kissing me again?

In this episode, after you hear Ed Sullivan's introduction of the Beatles, it goes right into "I Want To Hold Your Hand". But on the real Ed Sullivan, that was the Beatles' last number. The first number was "All My Loving". (edit) If I remember correctly, The Beatles did not appear live at the studio, but I believe they did do a taped appearance from Florida. It showed the group having fun on the beach. Can't remember the songs they sang. Ed Sullivan snatched them up. (edit) A reference should be made to the fact that The Ed Sullivan Show was the first to host The Beatles. The first to show film of them was The Jack Paar Show on NBC, I believe in Jan 1964. As far as The Beatles appearing on American Bandstand, It never happened. (edit)
