Trance: I'm still trying to figure out this whole "poisoning yourself for fun" thing. I think I like it.
(edit)
Beka: Trance, do not let him buy you off with a backrub. This is Sam Profit we're dealing with.
Trance: I think you're just cranky from the gravity. Why don't you just think of it as a way of decreasing his corporate resources? (to the masseur) Now, let's start with the tail. (edit) Trance: Exactly where on the body is the money maker located? (edit) Guy: I've been waiting for this.
(Tries to fire force lance- the force lance zaps him instead. he collapses to the ground. Beka just stares.)
Beka: It's personalized to my own DNA. Moron. (edit) Beka: How old are you, Trance? I don't even know! I don't know anything about you! Where ya from? Who ya working for? Why're ya purple? Are you working for Cid? Trance? Trance, are you working for Cid? You're working for him, aren't you. Aren't you, Trance. Trance! Are you?! Are you working for Sam?! (edit)

Beka's father's name was Ignatius Valentine, and he was apparently a drug smuggler and eventually drug addict. Beka is so afraid of becoming an addict like her father that she abstains from alcohol and all other drugs. Beka's father made her special nanobots that let her change her hair color at will. His partner was Sid Barrie, and he acted like a surrogate uncle to young Beka, and he helped Ingnatius build the Eureka Maru.

Trans-Galactic and Quantum Express are two of the largest shipping companies, and they are planning on merging. The Free Trade Alliance must approve the merger before it is allowed to go through.
