Born on August 16, 1969 in Omaha, Nebraska, Andy Milder soon moved to Santa Monica, California with his family at a young age. He majored in Economics at the University of Berkley, became a member of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity, before studying at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.
