    Hi everyone. I just started watching Angel last week and am already halfway through the second season! Love it. I don't normally go for fantasy shows, but I love David Boreanaz. Anyway, I like the character that Elisabeth Rohm plays (Kate Lockley) and was wondering if anyone knew of any fanfiction stories about her and Angel. I don't fully understand the whole moment of pure bliss thing, but I think that the two of them would be good together - too bad he is a Vampire. I checked FanFiction but they didn't seem to have any stories. I guess everyone is more of a Buffy/Angel fan. I don't like Sarah Michelle Gellar, so it's hard to like Buffy.

    I can't help you with this but I just wanted to say; not everyone is a Buffy/Angel fan. A lot of people like me, despise Buffy/Angel (the couple). Also you're watching Season 2 for the first time? I envy you. It's so my favourite season. Guess it's just cuz I'm a huge Angel/Darla fan. I love any kind of Darla though!

    I really must stop derailing topics and making them about Darla.

    I guess being new to the show, and talking with the some of my friends, it seemed that most people were Buffy/Angel fans. I tend to go against the flow, so it's good to know there are other popular couples, though I have a strong dislike of Darla. It seems that she is bringing out the worst of Angel, and my first response to season two (esp disk3) is that is is very depressing. I guess it just depends on why you watch the show and what you like. I like knowing why other people like a certain couple or a certain season. It makes for good conversation.

    She's the main reason I watch Angel! That arc is AMAZING, by far the best arc Angel ever did!

    *breathes*

    All right, I'm done . As for depressing, that's not even the most depressing Angel gets. It is a very dark show and very rarely not depressing. I'd say watch Buffy (the show) if you want storylines that aren't as harsh but seeing as you don't like Sarah Michelle Gellar, you might find it hard to it enjoy (a shame as I think Buffy is a wee bit better than Angel).

    I'm not really fond of the Buffy/Angel relationship myself, although I did think it brought some interesting stories to the show and kind of shaped the characters. I like the Darla/Angel relationship better, she was Angel's first love and they spent a couple hundred years together and you can tell that Angel still feels for her in the 2nd season. And I have to admit that I like Buffy just a bit better than Angel because the episodes aren't as down and depressing as Angel in my opinion.

    Well it actually took me awhile before I realized how important she was to the Buffyverse. After I rewatched season 2 of Angel I realized that she wasn't just another throw away storyline to add some kick to things, but played a pivotal role in Angel's life.

    I saw her in an interview - talking about the show - and I think she looked much prettier in the show - less make-up. It flatters her more.

    It seems that I am in the minority as far as Kate and Angel are concerned. I am having a hard time understanding how someone can like Darla though. I understand her importance in Angel's life, but she is so coniving (but she is a vampire - which explains that). I liked her in the flashbacks, but when I found out that WH had brought her back I was like no way!

    As far as experiencing it for the first time - my friend who introduced me to the show loves watching it with me and watching my expressions, or she texts me while I watch it. There are certainly shows that I wish I could experience for the first time. Even though they are good no matter how many times you see thm, the first time is so perfect. Sometimes it is spoiled though, especially with a show that has already ended - someone says something, you see something - and the suspense is ruined.

    I love having people to talk to about this show - it confuses me at times. I would love it if someone would explain how the whole true happiness thing works. Cause why did Darla think she had taken away his soul when she doesn't have a soul and therefore can't experience true happiness, but Angel does have a soul so even if he is the only one that experiences it. I am confused. This is the first show (or anything) that I have watched that is about vampires - so it is all new to me.

    WARNING! I read how you don't like to be spoiled, but explaining about his soul might ruin some stuff for you. So read ahead if you like, I'm just warning you about the potential spoilerization.

    There was a curse put on Angel, well actually his evil self Angelus, and the curse was a soul. Some gypsies cursed a soul on Angelus (which made him into Angel) so that he would live with the guilt of what he had done and if he experiences one true moment of happiness (for example sex) then his soul will be taken away and he will turn into his evil self again which is what Darla wants. I don't know if this really helps you or not.

    Am I the only one who finds it funny that there are people who love the series Angel but hate the series Buffy? I think Buffy deserves it's props, considering there'd be no Angel without Buffy.

    I agree - it is funny. I guess, like I said before, it is why you are watching it. I have never cared for vampire/demon-type shows before, but I love David Boreanaz, so that is why I watch it. Yeah, so, Angel starts two years after Buffy? Did Angel ever guest star on Buffy, like she did on Angel?

    hehe, well they are both great shows but it is strange how you can hate one but love the other.

    Angel did guest star on Buffy now and then, like in season 4, Doyle (in Angel) has a vision of Buffy in danger so Angel went to Sunnydale therefore starring on the buffy show to help save buffy. I love little crossovers like that! something joss and the team did so well

    Angel started during Buffy's 4th season. David guest starred in the 7th season of Buffy in 'Chosen', but before Angel became a series David starred in Buffy the Vampire Slayer's 1-3 seasons.
