This is the last episode to feature the brief appearences of Sarah Michelle Gellar (only her back) and Elizabeth Rohm (her face) in the title sequence/opening credits. Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) appears between Alexis Denisof's credit and J. August Richards' credit. Elizabeth Rohm (Kate) appears before David Boreanaz's credit. (edit)
David Boreanaz does the "Previously on Angel" voiceover. (edit)
Although Alyson Hannigan was not listed in the opening credits, she was credited as a Special Guest Star at the end of the episode. It was done this way to keep Willow's arrival at the hotel a surprise. (edit)
Plrtz Glrb is Pylean for Home. (edit)

Quotes

Fred: You'll get better with a little rest and care.
Angel: I don't think so.
Fred: Why wouldn't you?
Angel: Well, you saw what I turn into. Back in LA it's bad, but here it's...
Fred: We all got our demons. (edit)
Fred: Are you sure about that?
Cordelia: Trust me. Tacos everywhere. And... soap. (edit)
Cordelia: Do you mind if I hit him over the head with you?
Host: Yes! (edit)
Angel: I challenge the Groosalugg to mortal combat. Come out and face me, you spineless coward!
Fred: Ooo, why did you add that coward thing? That's really gonna piss him off. (edit)
Rebel: Five cheers for the other-worlders.
Wesley: Oooo, in this world you get five. (edit)

Trivia

add »
Lorne (like, presumably, all other members of his race) does not have five toes. (edit)
When everyone is looking at Lorne's head in the sack, there is no make-up on his closed eyelids. (edit)
The outfit that Cordelia is wearing should give a clear view of the tattoo on her back, but it is not visible. Most likely it was covered with makeup or digitally removed, despite the fact that the tatoo has been visible on Cordy many times. (edit)
During the scene after Silas slaps Cordelia and threatens to kill her, the hand that he holds her neck with changes between the colors purple and pink throughout. (edit)
When Angel is fighting the demons that are after Fred, his shirt is torn. Later when he is fighting the Groosalaug his shirt is intact. He could not have changed the shirt because he did not bring extra clothes to Pylea. (edit)

Allusions

add »
The Title "There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb"
Obvious reference to movie and novel The Wizard of Oz, in which the main character was finally able to get home by clicking the heels of her magical shoes together three times and chanting "There's no place like home." (edit)

"Conclusion"
"There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb" is a fun and worthy finale to the Pylea arc, all of it functioning as a comparably light thematic coda to the rest of this dark and intense season.

Where was I Tuesday, May 22, 2001? Not watching Angel. Although I watched Buffy, I had honestly never been a fan of anyone she dated. While I get that Angel has his own destiny to fufill, those who love you don't really leave.
