IMHO, they were both OK. Of the 2, I liked Darkwing Duck a little more than Tale Spin (though I admit the Tale Spin theme song was catchy), but overall I was never that big a fan of Disney, to be honest. I've always liked the Warner Bros. shows more. Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, Freakazoid!, good times, good times...

I love Freakazoid. Don't run off my behind by how I'm saying this, but this show's plot may have been sort of ripped off of the Mask (Movie).

Personally, and don't bother me with my opinion, The folks at Regency, like they did Ace Ventura, could of created a cartoon series for the Mask. It POSSIBLY could of been a brief hit, but we will never now

Freakazoid's voice seemed more directly patterned after Jerry Lewis to me.

But to reply to this thread's topic, I used to watch both Tale Spin and Darkwing Duck back in the day. Of the 2, I preferred the latter, although the former had it's moments also. I kind of liked the character of Shere Khan as the ruthless, obcsenly rich business tycoon.

Yes, it ran in syndication from 1995 to 1996.

When you think about it, Tale Spin was a pretty way out concept: someone decided to take the most popular characters from The Jungle Book, turn them into anthropomorphs and place them in a 40's adventure movie setting. Yet somehow it worked.

As for Darkwing Duck, I remember what were some of my favorite episodes:

"Planet of the Capes"-where superhero Comet Guy takes DD to the planet Mertz, where everybody's a superhero but him, so he has to take on the role of 'Ordinary Guy'.

"Dry Hard"-which introduced The Liquidator, one of my favorite villains from the show. A supervillain who spoke like a TV commercial announcer, what's not to like?

"Just Us Justice Ducks"-The Fearsome Five (Negaduck, Megavolt, Bushroot, Liquidator and Quackerjack) VS the Justice Ducks (DD, Gizmoduck, Morgana, Stegmutt and Neptunia-the latter 2 not being ducks).

    'Kung Fooled"-DD takes on ninjas.

"Monsters R Us"-Morgana's father turns DD, Launchpad and Gosalyn into movie monsters.

About the Talespins comic, you 've beaten me to the comment, as I just thought about that also. They would take Baloo's character and run off with it while screwing their sort of original roles and persoanlities.

I don't remember Tale Spin but I remember Darkwing Duck. I used to watch Darkwing Duck every morning at 6:00 because my mom used to wake me up early. DD was a great show, it was quirky and fun and I liked the villians.

I also watched the 6:00 episodes on either UPN or WB (not sure). Ibelieve it came on before Garfield and After Pink Panther.

I vaguely remember that Talespin shows. I belive it came on that time of morning or on UPN during the afternoon. With Baloo wearing the pilots hat and that big bulgy airplane I remember well.

I loved these shows, but I also really liked DuckTales. I didn't really like Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers but they showed it with the other ones so i watched that too. Man, I wish I could still feel that way about todays cartoons.

I liked "Tale Spin", but loved "Darkwing..."!

Any show that adults can enjoy with their kids is okay in my "comic" book!
