He's talking about Sazase-san.  It's unconfirmed how many episodes it has since it's been running for so long, but it's possible it has been longer than even Doreamon.

Damn, I've read in a lot of websites they weren't sure how many Sazae-san had.

So Sazae-san has reruns? I thought it along with Doreamon would just continue making new episodes each week--note, reruns for anime in Japan are almost nonexistent.

These high numbers of episodes are what scare me about gettting into anime. I never know when the series will end, unless it's old.

I haven't seen either Doraemon, Sazae-san, or Detective Conan, but most of them are episodic. The average anime actually ends in either 13, 26, or 52 episodes.

Yeah, I know that most, but they have potencial to go on really long. Plus, I'm only able to watch the ones they show on tv, and that usually goes on for a while.

    Dragon ball = 153

    Dragon ball Z = 291

    Dragon ball GT = 64

    Total episodes = 508

    This excludes the 26 movies...
