I came kind of late, but everyone else was wrong the strongest or at least stronger than anyone mentioned yet is GALACTUS- "the Devourer of Worlds".

"Of all the creatures in the vastness of the universe, there is none like me. I was present at the birth of the universe, and I shall be there at its end."

It's the helmet that makes him look little similar. You don't know who that is? He is apart of the Marvel world and he has appeared in many comics, but most notably Silver Surfer (he gave Silver Surfer his powers).

I didn't really read comic books when I was younger, though lately I've been starting to get into them because of manga.

I love comics, I think they have the biggest range of characters.

Goku doesn't have a last name as far as we know so it wouldn't work.

His full name is actually Son Goku. Well not really, since his real name is Kakorot...

It doesn't really matter it's not Goku vs. anyone and in that thread it was made pretty clear that Goku can be defeated by many characters.

Whatever name he has has doesnt really matter because a shingami can see whatever name qualifies with the death note.

The Death Note only works on humans (accoording to the very first rule). Goku is a Seiyan, so I don't know if it would apply to him.

Hold on, I thought that rule said that it doesnt work on death gods. Not that it matters. If light asks Goku his name he will most likely respond,"Goku" but since that isnt his true name, nothing would happen to Goku....

I'll say for cartoons the strongest character was the Beyonder from the Spider-Man 1994 series.

That's a pretty good one he is very powerful, but he was killed by Molecule Man even though it was partly his fault.

Beyonder had an incomplete (half of one) Cosmic Cube, with less power and the same limitations of a complete cube. Nonetheless, he possessed abilities allowing him manipulate matter and energy at a cosmic level beyond all, but only the most powerful of cosmic beings.

An example of one of those powerful cosmic beings would be; Galactus. Matter of fact he almost devoured The Beyonder.

The first rule states: "the human whose name is written in this book, shall die." So I'm pretty sure that it only applies to humans, unless Raito (Light) tries to test it on something or someone (in this case Goku) that is not human.
