In 2007, Anthony and radio personality Jo Stanley were runners up in It Takes Two, beaten by Jolene Anderson and David Campbell in the finale.

When Anthony was growing up, he attended and trained with the Johnny Young Talent School.

In March 2007, an intern at the radio station that accidentally outed Anthony was made the scapegoat and sacked from the station, Edge 96.One. While the intern was not involved in the on-air discussion about Anthony and his partner, she was accused of sending an audio file of the conversation to a Sydney newspaper. The intern and the breakfast show's host were suspended for two days, before the intern was fired. The traffic controller who actually outed Anthony, had no action taken against him at all.

In March 2007, Anthony was accidentally outed as being gay by a Sydney journalist. On March 26th, 2007, Anthony ended years of speculation and confirmed the report that he was gay.
(edit)
In November 2006, Anthony bought two new goldfish and asked fans to name them. They are now called Gin and Tonic!

Anthony: (on traffic reporter Vic Larusso who outed him on live radio) The thing I was most pissed off about was that he called me a snob. I can't even remember him coming up to our table that night we met. I was out with a group of people. I didn’t know who he was and he didn’t introduce himself to me.
(edit)
Anthony: (confirming to media that he is gay) Yes, I am gay. I have no issue with my sexuality now, but it's taken time to become confident with who I am and happy with who I am…. I don't think it's a big issue. Who cares? This might create a bit of gossip around the water cooler but apart from that I don't think it's a major thing. If people have an issue with it, it's their issue. It shouldn't really be relevant to me being a singer and a performer.
(edit)
Anthony: (on growing up gay in a close, Italian community) I went through a stage of major depression. I hated myself. I went through a stage where I didn't want to be me. I didn't understand why I had to be this way. It would have been much easier not to be gay, I could have done what was expected of me and got married and had kids. But that's not reality any more. We don't live in the 1950s. But getting through that makes you a stronger person, it allows me to do what I'm doing now.
(edit)
Anthony: (on supporting Pavarotti) I met him in Perth and they asked me to sing for him. You don’t get asked every day to sing for Pavarotti! I had a quick chat with him afterwards and he was really supportive. He said, ‘You sound great. Good luck.’ So it was really cool.
(edit)
Anthony: (describing a mishap on a plane in 2006) I was sitting on a plane and the inside of the window actually fell out. I called the flight attendant over and I said, ‘Should I be worried about this?’ And she goes, ‘Thanks for letting us know. You should be OK.’ And I went, ‘Should?!’ Luckily I wasn’t sucked out of the plane!
