April (On her former job): It was hard. I'm thinking, 'Why am I getting up in the morning?' But I thought, 'It's just a matter of time.'
(edit) April (Talks about what she would like to see happen to Lori by the end of season 1 of Kyle XY): That's really tough. It would definitely have to do with Lori's love interest on the show. I would love for them to have a breakthrough in communication. They started off playing games and it was always a power play. They're finally starting to starting to get to know each other to decide, "Are we going to be friends? Are we going to be together?" I feel like the reason he is hesitant has a lot to do with stuff going on with him and how he grew up as a child. I guess I would like to see there be a breakthrough in that and that somehow she could help him and get him to talk about it.
(edit) April (Tells if she could work with any actor or actress, who would she want to work with): Well growing up the ones that I always liked the most were Sally Field and Meryl Streep. I love the teen films because I always thought that was interesting, the teenage angst and drama. So that whole world and just the dark perspective of it was interesting to me. (edit) April (Talks about what her family thinks about her career): They're really supportive and happy for me. None of them are artistic whatsoever, it's a very business-minded family, so to them what I do is fascinating. (edit) April: (Talks about filming in Vancouver and being detached from home) I like it because we work such long days that I don't really have time to do anything else or have a social life anyways so all I really have to focus on is work. When I do have free time I love this city so much that if I can't be home in LA, I couldn't picture myself going anywhere else to work because its kind of the perfect place. It's away from everything and I can focus and I'm not really homesick here. (edit) April (Talks about the celebrities she has met that made her really starstruck): I've met quite a few actually because of a show I did on FOX. But probably my most thrilling person that I met would be Phyllis Diller. She was hilarious. Kelsey Grammer was the first person that I saw when I was there. He was walking out of the elevator as I was walking in and I looked at him and assumed he knew who I was, too, because I knew him. So I was like, "Hi!" He kind of walked around me and I looked over at my friend and said, "That was really stupid," and he was like, "Yeah, that was really stupid." It was this weird reaction. I did the same thing with Hugh Laurie from House. (edit) April (Talks about working with Matt Dallas on Kyle XY): He's awesome. He's super professional and he and I became friends right off the bat. We actually recognized each other without ever meeting. We met in the airport to come to Vancouver to shoot the pilot. We were both wandering outside the gate and we locked eyes and he said, "April!" and I was like, "Matt!" We knew instantly, I knew he was Kyle and he knew I was Lori so we bonded right away. He's a great friend and great to work with. We help each other a lot with lines and learning material and discussing what's happening with the scene. Everyone's really open and encouraging. He definitely works very hard. He puts a lot of time into his work, even when he's at home. He takes it very seriously. (edit) April (Talks about her character Penny Chase on Quintuplets): She gets good grades and doesn't have to try too hard. We are stereotypes of different characters, but we want to be real. We don't want to be cartoon characters. I'm trying to think about high school and what it was like for me and how other people made me feel. She was a social outcast, awkward and insecure, and she was getting kicked around (by siblings and classmates). The writers and I decided that if we're going to care about the character, she has to have some fight in her. (edit) April (Talks about her audition for Quintuplets): I was auditioning for a lot of pilots, and when I got the script and looked at it, I said, 'Mom, this is the one.' I felt like I really related to this girl, that she was very funny and interesting... I had fake nerd glasses. Right before the auditions, I put them on; I drew real energy from the glasses. I was transformed. (edit)
