When Jonah is captured, Baron Vargas' men take away his wrist bracer containing his communicator, holding it up to inspect. But later when Jonah is working in the field, he's wearing both of his bracers, as well as his equipment belt, all of which would be presumably dangerous to allow him to keep. (edit)
