Michael gathered with his family at the courthouse to discuss his father's upcoming trial. They had been offered a plea, but Barry hadn't had a chance to read it because, as he said, he was "getting back into the dating world." Lucille said, on behalf of George Sr., that he wants to accept the plea because he needs a woman in his life. George Sr. had a woman in his life, Cindi Lightballoon, an FBI agent undercover as a woman who watched George's "Caged Wisdom" tapes and had actually fallen for him. She tells him the gov't has no case and they can fight this. George Sr. says to go to trial. Michael took the thick binder, vowing to read the plea
Lindsay received a letter from the high school that Maeby is failing 9th grade. Lucille ignored Lindsay when she had done the exact same thing. Determined not to follow in her mom's footsteps, she and Tobias hired George Michael to tutor Maeby.
Michael and Gob were at the courthouse bar. Michael is attempting to read the plea, but Gob is trying to get him a woman to have a one-night stand with. Michael bumps into a woman named Magie Lizer and they start a conversation. Gob had told Michael that lawyer is Latin for liar, and seeing as how the Bluth family has mastered foreign language, Michael decided it was OK to lie to his potential conquest. He introduced himself as Jareth Cutestory, maritime lawyer.
Back at the model home, Maeby showed George Michael her most recent test. She got every answer wrong. She pays George Michael what she thinks is $200 (she really only gave him six 20s) to just fill in the right answers. George Michael wonders where it came from.
The next morning, Michael worried about how to end his first one-night stand. He's following Gob's instruction to just walk away when he notices her seeing eye dog, Justice. Michael realized that Maggie was blind, and felt so guilty he couldn't dump her.
George Sr. is continuing to exploit Cindi for more info about the case. He begins to tweak her nipples through the jailyard fence. Lucille catches him, and before he can explain, Lucille stormed off.
Michael came home, disappointed about not getting out clean of his one-nighter. Gob came home at the same time. They swapped stories. Turns out Gob screwed up and got married during a series of escalating dares.
Michael showed up for a date in the park with Maggie. He pretends to be interested but is actually reading the plea offer while they walk. Maggie is able to smell this and asks about it.
George Sr. was approached by Cindi while on the chain gang. She tells him again that she thinks he'll be set free. However, she said that George Sr. had said faith was a fact in one of his tapes. Turns out this was only a part of a blooper reel. Cindi had no actual fact that George wouldn't be convicted.
Back at the high school, George Michael ran into Maeby. She received an A on her old test. She pays him what she thinks is $100 (She actually gave him six 20s) to write an essay for her this time. Maeby runs off quickly to attend a fundraiser for a sick girl named Surely. This struck George Michael odd, because Lindsay was a fan of fundraisers, which meant Maeby wasn't.
Michael never had a shot at reading the plea. Barry hadn't either because she was handling George and Lucille's divorce. George Sr. confessed that Cindi was an FBI informant and was just looking for info, and all is forgiven. He begs Michael and Barry to take the plea, and though neither have read it, they decide they will accept anyway.
Michael realizes that Maggie is his father's prosecutor. Maggie is the most feared in Orange County because her blindness wins her sympathy with the judge, jury, and sometimes, her opposition! Michael admits to Barry and Gob that Maggie is his blind one-nighter. Gob asks him to string her along and Barry says Michael can help them win the case.
George Michael attended Surely's fundraiser. He finds out that Surely is just Maeby posing in a wheelchair.
Michael drops by Maggie's. She's glad the court called recess, because she wasn't prepared because of her time spent with Michael. She still thinks Michael's a lawyer, and hands him the file on the Bluth case to read. Michael mouths "Oh My God", and is faced with an ethical quandary. Lie or Cheat?
On the next Arrested Development...
Maeby attempts to deposit her check, Gob adapts to married life, and Tobias is sent to sneak into Maggie's house to steal evidence, only to discover that she's not blind.
