Michael tries to figure out the truth about Maggie and the baby that maybe is his, and maybe isn't. hide show

My favorite doctor returns! The very literal doctor has to give the family the bad news that Buster has to live an all right life because a seal has bitten off his bad hand. Two of my favorite gags in this series are the doctor infuriating the Bluth family every time a family member ends up in the hospital, which happens surprisingly often. My other favorite gag is "Loose Seal", which someone shouts at Buster, who thinks he's hearing "Lucille". Glad to see the Maggie storyline wrapped up because she just annoyed me with her pleas for attention by first trying to be blind, then pregnant. I'm a big fan of the actress, but I just don't think her character brings anything to the table.

The episode that got me hooked! hide show

This was the first episode I ever saw of Arrested Development (not knowing about it before because of it’s midnight slot and only seeing it after leaving TV on after 11:30 Scrubs) and it got me hooked on the show, in this case literally regarding Buster’s claw.

The whole fat suit-cops-pregnancy plot was very well plotted and a great follow up from the previous episode I saw when I got the DVD. As for Buster’s hand, it oddly came out of a “Next time” scene which are usually false and it is a great storyline, especially the scene with the doctor (all right) and Gob’s seal.

Overall, this is a very entertaining episode and starts Buster’s life without a hand which comes up in many episodes to come.

  • Outside of Maggie's house, Michael tells George Michael "We're like a team. We're like Red McGibon & Bullet". This is a reference to the radio and movie serial that Uncle Jack (from the episode "Ready, Aim, Marry Me") starred in. []
  • While they are sitting outside of Maggie's house, Michael makes a call to trace the number that was left on her door. When getting off of the phone, he says "Thank you, Mr. Parmesan". Also, the "You're Killing Me, Buster" sign was seen in that episode. []

Lucille: But you said he was all right.
