As Told By Ginger is a popular Nicktoon based on 7th-grade Ginger Foutley as she deals with being an unpopular-misfit teenager in middle-school. Along with her 3 friends Dodie, Macie and Darren, Courtney Gripling (the popular 'princess' girl) has taken a shine to Ginger lately. Miranda Courtney's sidekick/best friend, isn't okay with it and hates Ginger. In the first season, Ginger is in the 7th Grade, Season 2, Ginger is in the 8th-grade, and Season 3, Ginger is off to high-school!

What Grade is Ginger in? In Season 1 she is in the 7th Grade, in Season 2 she begins 8th grade, and now in Season 3 Ginger will start 9th Grade in High School.

Why is Ginger only airing like one time a week? Yes, Ginger used to air a lot of times a week, maybe Nick thought it wasn't being well received and decided to move the time further away so fans would start wondering. When will Ginger be in more places? I'm not sure yet, hopefully soon to find out.

I read on Don's ATBG site that each season has 20 episodes worth, why is there missing some episodes in the 3 ATBG Seasons? Nick has decided to air the 3 part episodes as actual 'TV Movies' or 'Specials'. Example: 'Far From Home'-the TV Movie (as listed)- would actually count as 3-part episodes to add to Season 2 or 3. and Same with 'Camp Caprice' and 'The Wedding Frame'.

I'm sick of waiting, when will new episodes air like they used to!? This is Nick's choice, obviously Nick decides after 1-2 seasons to air episodes far apart in order to save some. 'Then why are the Season 1-2 episodes aired close together?' - Probably because Nick wanted to be able to air at least 20-30 episodes without worrying if kids get sick of watching the same episodes over and over. But this is Nick's choice and I'm not going to speak for them.

What city does As Told By Ginger Take place in?
The series takes place in the city of Sheltered Shrubs (this is a fictional city)

Characters

Ginger Ginger is a nervous, yet nice, 12 year old pre-teen. She is sister to Carl who she lives with, and also lives with her Mom. Her Dad wasn't that reliable and obviously left Ginger and her family. Ginger wants popularity and would mostly do ANYTHING for it!

Dodie Dodie is best friend to Ginger. Dodie is a gossip girl and drama queen. Dodie trys to be popular as well, but, it seems Ginger is getting more success then her, tough luck Dodie!

Macie Macie is friends with Dodie and Ginger. Macie may not be the most popular girl in the school, (well actually, she's quite a geek!) but, she is quite a laugh and a good friend to Ginger & Dodie.

Courtney Courtney is the most popular girl at her school. Courtney is obviously rich and thinks up in herself. Though, lately she's took a shine to Ginger. Ginger is Courtney's latest popular experiment.

Miranda Miranda is a nasty pre-teen who just wants popularity and best friendship to carry on with Courtney. Miranda hates Ginger because of Ginger and Courtneys latest friendship. But, who will be the winner?

Carl Carl is brother to Ginger and drives her up the wall, including there Mom! Carl just loves anything thats disgusting and dirty, he is best friend to Hoodsey.

Hoodsey Hoodsey is best friend to Carl and brother to Dodie. You wouldn't think they were brother and sister unless you saw they had the same parents and surname. Anyway... Hoodsey likes being naughty just as much as Carl, but, sometimes his Mom gets in the way.

Lois Lois is a caring Mom to Ginger and Carl. She always has a good joke and is like any other normal Mom.less «

I watch the other holiday epsiodes on their holidays too, Even Steven Holiday Special on Christmas and Ten Chairs on Thanksgiving, Easter Ham on Easter, April's Fools on April Fools Day, I Spy a Witch on Halloween. Does anyone else watch the holiday episodes on those holidays? I know that Nickalodeon doesn't play them on the holidays, I sent them a letter and never heard back so I just bought the DVD and watch them that way. less «

  A great show about a bohemian kind of girl dealing with her family and friends in a very real way. hide « show »

  This show was really amazing, I think it dealt with the problems kids face in a very interesting and real way. Even though I was in my early twenties when I watched it I was entertained and moved by it. I specially loved the way they allowed the characters to change and grow the way real people do. Ginger was relatable, smart and fun but far from being perfect, as were all the other characters, it made it posible to simpatize with everyone, even with the "bad guy" in every situation. I loved the way the show didn't allow stereotypical portrayals and boxes. I think every girl between 8 and 25 could enjoy this show and learn a lot.

  best of the worst? hide « show »

  the reason i choose those words is because... i want people to read my statement. my statement might not meen much, but in this review most people can agree. the statement "it's an insult to call ATBG a cartoon, the only acceptable term is 'animated series'" from 'runissknight'. the only reason some people dont like this show is because they never really watched the episode and understand it. most people that dont like this show are the ones that only watch shows with a lot of fighting blood and gore. for those people that were lucky enough to be in jr. high or highschool when this show aired had a better chance of liking the show as they can relate. ATBG was maybe the only show not on 'teenick' that actually delt with school problems and life problems. also some of the negative comments say 'bad drawers' or we. i personally dont care if they can draw good or not, as long as the storyline is good an enojoyable. with people giving negative comments about drawing i say this, lets see u draw a whole series better than that and give a good storyline for people to enjoy. all i can really say is that why must nickelodeon not at least finish running the series showing all high school episodes and the movie 'the wedding frame'.

  I liked this show some of these ppl on here don't understand the realness of this show I don't kno what's up w/ some of these reviews, i watched it when it came out eventhough i was a lttle kid i still thought it was a cute show. I wish this show was still on air all these new cartoons on Nick are just ridulous and unrealistic what happend to Hey Arnold and All grown up? those were good shows I watched on a saturday morning now i donno what's up with these cartoons showin' on Nick and Cartoonnetwork there are just plain ridulous and stupid the only cartoon that makes me laugh is South park and they are all little children and it's very intertaining.

  I say that because shows like this one were unjustly ****ed with by Nickelodeon and was had to cancel.
  
  This was well the first time I saw a Nicktoon dealing with real-life. Real-life personality, real-life problems, real-life clothes changing, all about these junior high schoolers.
  
  Now at first when I watched it, I couldn't quite get it cause.. I was young. But mom really loved the show. I mean she was more updated with the show then I was. But after a while the show kinda grew on me. I liked how they concluded the show... * sighs *... but in the mist of giggling sponges and constant bsing even now with a great show (Avatar), there probably won't be a cartoon that'll be as deep As ATBG.

  Great show to watch for teenagers, it's really realistic. hide « show »

  I used to watch this show when I was young (and I still watch this when it's on 2 am in the morning) I love as told by ginger. it makes you think about what High school is like? (Well I was wondering about that) and it's really realistic about a teenager's life everyday! handling peer pressure, boys, family, school, friends etc. Many teenagers can really relate (such as myself) it brings me happiness sometimes some episodes even kinda resembles my own life. as usual there is a moral at the end of the episode, which helped me a lot. so I say as told by ginger is a great show for kids and teenagers.
