The magic circle club was the gold standard for kids hsows in the sixties (beleive it or not, it was on Channel Zero before it became Channel Ten). ABC had a knock off called Adventure island which starred John Michael Howson

I used to frikin love ABC kids in the early to mid 90s when I used to watch it! The shows on then were so much more educational than they are now.

As far as bringing back some old favourites go. I think somebody already mentioned Liftoff. That was one of my favourites! I'd love to see repeats of that on ABC Kids. I also used to like Captain Planet, Super Ted, Johnson & Friends, The Saddle Club, Blue Water High. I only watched the latter two shows much later though.

Rocko's modern life and angry beavers were my favourites, the stuff they show these days isn't nearly as good.

Not sure if this was on ABC but I have a really vague memory of a cartoon knight from the early 90's but think it might have been around in the 80's. We had it on VHS and all I can muster up about it is a short black knight with pointy features on a white background.

If anyone knows what I'm talking about I will love them forever.

(Also let's not forget Stickin' Around, Jim Henson's Secret Life of Toys, Insektors, Katie and Orbie, and of course Victor and Hugo: Partners in Crime..)

    What about these shows -

    1) Minty - Was a show about a normal English girl winning a trip to Australia and swapping lives with an Australian soapie star who looked exactly like her.

    2) Blinky Bill - Not the animated series, this was a puppet version (much like the Ferals) which also featured humans and was set in a National Park

    3) Widget The World Watcher - Yes, I know it was already mentioned - but I LOVED! that show

    4) Are You Afraid Of The Dark? - Was alot like "Goosebumps" - and it was live action, not a cartoon

    5) Alvin And The Chipmunks / & / Alvin And The Chipmunks Go To The Movies

    6) Puddle Lane - A silly show about a Magician who owned a green dragon and it was live action (except for the dragon, who was a puppet)

    7) Swap Shop - Featured music videos of songs off the 0 - 9 album series (anyone else remember those?)

Vidiot - An ABC gameshow that was specifically aimed at teenagers

OK, I could go on for hours... but let me just say that I basically grew up watching the ABC (it was my life really) - and remember just about every show that people have mentioned so far.

There's so many shows that i wish i could name. suffice to say that most of the shows that everybody mentioned i watched, i was glued to the tv.

One show not mentioned was ship to shore, not sure if it was abc but it was great.

I would like to say i didn't like Angela anaconda.

I know this is a lame mention but as a ankle biter i loved play-school. Especially the calendar with the marbles, such fun!

There is one show i cant remember the name of: it was a claymation set on an ice world planet. One of the very last episodes involves an asteroid going to cash on the planet, the main character goes to save the planet and ends up faxing himself home, it turns out out he did save the planet and the asteroid had been to there before and had taken the core of the planet.
