(edit) On the Western Air Temple commentary the creators said they first called this episode Zuko's Cool, because they wanted a silly name no one but themselves would understand. Katara: (annoyed) Sokka, I looked at it and told you there was nothing there!
Sokka: I could feel it! It's my throat hole flap! (edit) Katara: (About Zuko) This is just like the time we were imprisoned together in Ba Sing Se. He starts talking about his mother and making it sound like hes an actual human being with feelings.
Sokka: He wants you to feel sorry for him so you let your guard down then he strikes.
Katara: The thing is, it worked. I did feel sorry for him. I felt like he was really hurt and confused. But obviously when the time came he made his choice, and we paid the price. (edit) Katara: Why would you even try to defend him!?
Toph: (Getting increasingly angry) Because Katara! Aang needs a firebending teacher. We can't think of a single person in the world to do the job, now one shows up on a silver plater and you won't even think about it!!? (edit) Sokka: (showing Zuko to his room) So, here you go. Home sweet home - I guess, you know, for now. Unpack...lunch, soon? Uh...welcome aboard? (Zuko half smiles and nods) Yeah. (turns and leaves the room - outside, he meets up with Aang) Okay ... this is really really weird. (edit) Aang: I can't believe I'm saying this, but thanks Zuko. (edit) Zuko: Why am I so bad at being good!? (edit) Aang: Yeah, right. (bends over backwards) Like we'll ever run into Jeong Jeong again!
Toph: Who's... oh never mind. If it's important I'll find out. (edit) Katara (Gazing at Zuko with a dark look): You might have everyone else buying your "transformation", but you and I both know you've struggled with doing the right thing in the past. So let me tell you something right now. You make one step backward, one slip up, give me one reason to think you might hurt Aang, and you won't have to worry about your destiny anymore. Because I'll make sure your destiny ends, Right then and there. Permanently! (edit) Sokka (planning a payback after with Aang against Zuko after the latter accidentally burned Toph's feet): ...And then we'll jump him and really make him our prisoner. He'll never suspect it!
Katara (sarcastically): You're a master of surprises, Sokka. (edit) Toph: I's just saying, considering his messed up family and how he was raised, he could have turned out a lot worse.
Katara: You're right, Toph; let's go find him and give him a medal -- the "Not-As-Much-Of-A-Jerk-As-You-Could-Have-Been" Award. (edit) Katara: What was all that crazy stuff about setting Appa free? What a liar!
Toph: Actually, he wasn't lying.
Sokka: Oh, hooray! In a lifetime of evil, at least he didn't add "animal cruelty" to the list. (edit) Iroh: Prince Zuko, it's only been a week since your banishment. You should take some time to heal and rest.
Zuko: What else would I expect to hear from the laziest man in the Fire Nation?!
(Iroh sighs sadly)
Zuko: The only way to regain my honour is to find the Avatar. (lowers his head) So I will. (edit) Zuko: I've done some good things! I mean, I could have stolen your bison in Ba Sing Se, but I set him free! That's something!
(Appa licks Zuko)
Toph: Appa does seem to like him.
Sokka (suspiciously): He probably just covered himself in honey or something so that Appa would like him! (edit) Zuko (frustrated): How am I supposed to convince these people I'm on their side?! (thoughtfully) What would Uncle do? (paces, trying to imitate Iroh's voice) Zuko, you have to look within yourself, to save yourself from your other self...only then will your true self reveal itself ... (makes a frustrated noise) Even when I'm talking for him I can't figure out what he means! (more calmly) What would Azula do? (tries to imitate Azula) Listen, Avatar: I can join your group, or I can do something unspeakably horrible to you and your friends - your choice. (sits down) I guess I'm not that good at impersonations. (edit) Zuko: Hello, Zuko here! But I guess you probably already know me... Sort of. Uh, so! The thing is, I have a lot of firebending experience and I'm considered to be pretty good at it! Well, you've seen me. You know, when I was attacking you... Uh, yeah, I guess I should apologize for that... But anyway, I'm good now! I mean, I thought I was good before, but now I realize I was bad, uh, but anyway... I think it's time I joined your group, and taught the Avatar firebending. (the frog he is talking to croaks) Well?! What's your answer? (the frog jumps on his head, croaks again, and hops away) Yeah ... that's what I'd say, too. (edit) Zuko: If you won't accept me as a friend, then maybe you will take me as a prisoner.
(stands on his knees)
Katara: No, we won't! (attacks him) Get out of here and don't come back! And if we ever see you again... well, we better not see you again! (edit) Toph: I'm beginning to wonder who is really the blind one all around here! (edit)

When Sokka throws his boomerang and it hits the Combustion Man, it should fall to the ground or not come directly back to Sokka's hand. (edit) After Sokka hit Combustion Man with his boomerang, the entire gaang ran out of cover. Toph should not have been able to do that, due to her feet getting burned by Zuko. (edit) Zuko visited the Western Air Temple before approximately one week after being banished from the Fire Nation. (edit) The Western Air Temple is the only one situated on the underside of a canyon, instead of on a mountain like the other three. (edit) When the topic arises, it is clearly hinted that Zuko knows Combustion Man's real name, but he doesn't get to say it. (edit) In the last scene, Katara slams the door shut, but in the previous scene, there was no door present. (edit) When Combustion Man attacked the gang, he destroyed all of the four pillars around the waterpool. But later, when Zuko met the gang for the second time, one of the pillars was intact. (edit) In the night when Toph tried to ran away from Zuko when she was burnt accidentally by Zuko's firebending, we can see that the dead tree Zuko talked to in the morning had shifted position, from one side of his camp to another side of his camp. (edit) Katara had a brown sleeping bag in her hand when the gang first talked about if they should accept Zuko into the group, but after a little while her sleeping bag became white in color. (edit) In the episode, when Zuko met with the gang, there are no ropes attached to Appa's horns, but later there are ropes attach to the bison's horns. (edit) This is the second episode since The Chase where the fact that Toph hasn't been with the group for long is referenced: When Aang and Katara talk about Jeong Jeong, Toph asks who he is. (The first episode was The Day Of Black Sun, Part 1: The Invasion where Aang introduces Toph to Haru and explains what happened on the episode they met him, Imprisoned). (edit) When Sokka and Aang put Toph's feet in the water, when she is put in the one on her left wears a glove, like Sokka's, but in the next screen it shows that Aang isn't wearing such a glove. (edit) The Western Air Temple only housed Female Airbenders. (edit)
