Bob's parents are shocked when their son, six month-old Bob, begins speaking like an adult. As they listen to Bob question life, they ponder whether or not to reveal Bob's gift to anyone else, all while trying to keep Bob from talking in front of his grandmother and grandfather.

When Lizzy is subjected to hearing her mom's and her sister Karen's brags about Karen's daughter, Lizzy is tempted to tell the two about Bob's ability to talk. Meanwhile, Sam attacks Walter's lack of parenting skills in print - using his newspaper column.

Lizzy and Walter use Bob's adult abilities to their advantage when they strategically place him in an art gallery next to the owners and then interrogate the baby for answers in order to determine the lowest asking price possible for a painting.

While Lizzy and Walter are out shopping, they leave Bob with his grandparents. While Bob and his grandfather are watching a game, Bob talks in front of his grandparents. Bob's grandfather asks him if babies do remember life before birth, and if Bob has ever met his "good" grandmother Roberta on "the Other Side".

Walter sacrifices his mornings so that Lizzy can be better rested for sex by waking up early to take care of Bob. However, the plan backfires terribly.
